CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team finished 6th place at the Mississippi College Season Opener Tuesday evening to open the 2010 season at the Choctaw Trails Course. The Rams finished 1st among teams from the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Mark Meadows paced the Rams with a 36th place finish at time of 19:27, while Ryne Pulliam was right behind at No. 38 with a time of 19:49.

Emil Verde finished 40th at 19:50, Zach Gaines came in 43rd with a time of 20:03 and Chase Amerson finished 52nd with a time of 21:37.

"It was a solid opening performance for the men's team," Head Coach Alastair Stevenson said. "The team worked well together throughout the race."

Jeffrey Caviness came in 54th, Steven Ferguson 53rd, Jay Fincher 68th and Nick Weaver finished 72nd for the Rams.
