MOBILE, Ala-- Three University of Mobile athletes were named OnePath Systems SSAC Players of the Week, as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Jason Williams was named Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, Deshorn Brown was named Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, and Allie Wheeler was named Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

The UMobile men's soccer team went 1-0-1 on the week in a pair of tough games. The Rams tied 6th-ranked Martin Methodist and then defeated Milligan College 3-0. Milligan is receiving votes in the NAIA Top-25.

Williams played all 200 minutes in goal for the Rams and pitched a shutout in both outings. He grabbed two saves and held Martin Methodist scoreless for 110 minutes, and then made three saves in a 90-minute shutout versus Milligan.

Brown, who leads the Rams with 2 goals and 2 assists, posted one of each in the victory over Milligan.

Wheeler and the University of Mobile women's cross country team ran at the Mississippi College Season Opener. The freshman posted a time of 17:46 in the 4K run and finished 16th out of 83 runners. She bested all runners from SSAC members William Carey and Belhaven.
