MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team salvaged a split on the final day of the Faulkner University Invitational by defeating Florida Memorial 3-0 (25-4, 25-13, 25-10) after falling to Southeastern University 0-3 (18-25, 23-25, 23-25) earlier in the day.
Mobile (11-7, 3-1) hosts SSAC foe Faulkner University Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 pm.
Against Florida Memorial, Disah Kolassiba led with 9 kills and hit 1.000, while Katie Dowd and Shea McBee finished with 6 kills. McBee also led with 4 aces, while Mobile served up 16 aces as a team. Katy McCollister led with 12 digs, while Melody Tenney had 15 assists.
The Lady Rams with .485 as a team and held Florida Memorial to a -.100 attack percentage.
In the opening set, Mobile used a 15-0 run behind the serving of Shea McBee to roll to the 25-4 victory. Florida Memorial jumped out to a 4-3 lead in the second set, but Mobile took 12 of the next 15 points to regain control. A 7-0 run with Haley Wiggins serving helped cap the set.
Mobile jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the final set and cruised from there for the shutout win.
