HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2009-10 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team Friday. Mobile's Donte Walker and Ji Kimbrough were honored.
Kimbrough, a redshirt freshman from McGill-Toolen, was also tabbed the GCAC Freshman of the Year.
Kimbrough led the Rams with 16.3 points per game on the season while shooting 45% from the field and 38% from 3-point range. He averaged 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He went over 20 points eleven times, including a season-high 39 points against Belhaven College.
In that game against Belhaven, Kimbrough set school records for most field goals attempted (27) and most free throws attempted (21).
Walker, a junior from Lake Charles, La., averaged 15.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, while shooting 46% from the field. He shot 75% from the free throw line. Walker went off for over 20 points in eight games, with a season-high of 28 points against Auburn-Montgomery. He finished with three double-doubles on the season.
The Rams finished the season with a 17-11 record and lost in the GCAC Quarterfinals at William Carey University.
