MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team trounced Selma University 86-31 in non-conference action Saturday at Pharr Gym.
Mobile (3-0) will next play Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Alabama State in exhibition action at 6 pm.
The Lady Rams dominated in all areas and got double-digit scoring efforts from five players. Adrienne Mackay led Mobile with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Alyssa Lane and Morgan Crawford added 11 points apiece. Jana Rastovic and Alice Honnery added 10 points and 6 rebounds each.
Mobile shot 55% from the floor, including 63% in the second half when they outscored Selma 47-16. Mobile's defense held Selma to a 14% shooting effort from the field and forced 27 turnovers.
The Lady Rams started the game by scoring the first nine points and held Selma University to one point for the first 6:22. The visitors did not reach double figures until 12:30 had run off the clock and Mobile had put 24 points on the scoreboard. Mobile finished the half on an 11-0 run to make it 39-15 at the break.
Mobile started the 2nd half on an 18-2 run to build a 40-point lead and led by as much as 55 in the half.
