KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the pairings for the 31 qualifiers for the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Sunday.
Thirty teams will compete in fifteen National Championship Opening Round matches Nov. 20, while the University of Mobile (15-3-2) gets an automatic bid to the Round of 16 at the final site Nov. 29 - Dec. 4 in Orange Beach, Ala.
This marks the Rams' 4th straight trip to nationals and 14th overall. Mobile is 20-13 overall at nationals and won it all in 2002.
Defending national champ Lindsey Wilson is making its 17th-straight trip, the longest active streak, and Simon Fraser is making its 23rd appearance at nationals. Seven of the 31 teams have won at least one national title; Mobile, Simon Fraser, Lindsey Wilson, Rio Grande, Azusa Pacific, Belhaven and Bethel (Tenn.).
Joining the Rams in the elite field are three other Southern States Athletic Conference teams; Belhaven, William Carey and Southern Polytechnic State University.
The second round of the tournament will take place Nov. 29 and 30, and Mobile will play on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 pm versus the winner of St. Thomas and Belhaven.
Unbeaten and top-ranked Rio Grande and William Carey are also on Mobile's side of the bracket.
