MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 55-37 at NCAA-I Alabama State University in exhibition action Tuesday evening.
Mobile (3-1) will visit Lee University Friday, Nov. 19 at 6 pm in Cleveland, Tenn.
The Lady Rams were down only 27-21 after one half of play, but then shot 16% (5-31) in the final half, while the Lady Hornets pulled away.
Mobile shot only 26% from the floor, compared to 32% for the Lady Hornets.
While both teams had their fair share of misses, Alabama State dominated on the boards, out rebounding Mobile 60-33, including a 22-5 edge in offensive rebounds.
Allison Michael put up 15 points while hitting 4-of-8 from 3-point range, while the rest of the Lady Rams combined to go 1-of-9 from deep. Alice Honnery added 7 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Rams.
Take away Michael's 5-of-11 shooting, and the rest of the team combined to go 8-of-40 from the field.
After Alabama State scored the first points of the game on a steal and layup from Tamara Waldington, the Lady Rams scored the next 12 points to grab a 12-2 lead. But, after scoring those 12 points in the game's first 5:46, the Lady Rams scored only nine points the rest of the half as Alabama State grabbed the six-point lead.
