Rams Fall 60-67 At 12th-Ranked Flames

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 60-67 at 12th-ranked Lee University Friday evening.

Mobile (4-2) visits Shorter University Saturday at 6 pm.

Ji Kimbrough led the Rams with 22 points, while Brock Dockery added 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Matthew Turner added 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Jerel Blocker poured in 25 points for Lee, while Larriques Cunningham with 10-of-11 from the charity stripe to finish with 16 points.

The Rams stayed in the game by hitting 9-of-20 from 3-point range, but Lee went 23-of-34 from the charity stripe, including a 17-of-18 effort to close out the game in the second half. Mobile went only 9-of-16 from the free throw line in the game.

Mobile led for the majority of the first half, but ended up going into the break down by seven. Mobile jumped out to a 7-0 lead and led until Lee got a bucket from Roy McFadgon with 6:45 left to take a 21-20 lead. From there, Lee went on a 10-1 run, before taking the 31-24 lead into the break.

The Flames held the lead for the first 9:30 of the second half until a basket from Dockery put Mobile ahead 46-44. A 3-pointer from Matt Stilwell gave Lee a 49-46 lead with 7:26 left and Mobile could not rally.

After Blocker missed a free throw with 5:34 left, the Flames went 14-of-14 from the charity stripe the rest of the way to hold on. A pair of 3-ball's from Kimbrough down the stretch brought Mobile within one score twice, but Lee answered with a pair of free throws each time.
