MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team disposed of Southeastern University 62-45 in non-conference NAIA action Monday evening.
Mobile (5-3) will next host Brewton-Parker Friday, Dec. 3 at 8 pm.
Brock Dockery led Mobile with 15 points and 9 rebounds, while Matthew Turner chipped in 12 points and 7 boards.
Ji Kimbrough added 9 points for Mobile, while Malcom Pollock led the Fire with 12 points.
The Rams took control of the game with a dominant first half, outscoring the visitors 40-22 thanks to a 48% shooting effort from the floor and a 5-for-8 effort from 3-point range. The Rams held Southeastern to 31% shooting overall, but they hit no 3-pointers.
For the game, Mobile shot 39% compared to 33% for the Fire, while Mobile's defense forced 25 turnovers.
Mobile led 10-8 4:24 into the opening half, but used a 12-3 run to take a 22-11 lead. The Rams then stretched a 25-15 lead to a 34-17 lead in a 2:38 span.
The second half was a defensive struggle, with Southeastern shooting 36% and Mobile shooting 27%, and the Fire never got closer than 17 points.
Eight different Rams scored in the contest, with seven of those producing multiple buckets.
