Rams Beat Concordia-Selma 88-72

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated visiting Concordia College-Selma 88-72 Friday evening at Pharr Gym.

Mobile (7-3) will next play Dec. 27 at 7 pm at University of South Alabama in an exhibition contest.

Brock Dockery led the Rams with 22 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 4-of-6 from 3-point range, Ji Kimbrough added 20 points and Donte Walker finished with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

Wendall Maye tallied 14 points for Concordia, while Chris Rodriguez and Gabriel Ball each finished with 11.

Mobile shot 51% from the floor, compared to a 36% effort from Concordia, while the Hornets went 10-of-31 from 3-point range compared to Mobile's 7-of-15 effort from deep.

The teams traded leads in the first half, before Mobile took control. Down 6-7 early, Mobile used an 11-2 run to grab a 17-9 lead thanks to back-to-back-to-back buckets from Bentley Hylton, Kimbrough and Walker. but, the Hornets answered right back with a 9-0 run to retake an 18-17 lead with 11:00 left thanks to three 3-balls.

Mobile answered with a 15-4 run over the next 5:12 to take a 10-point lead, before pulling ahead by as much as 18 in the half. Mobile took a 49-34 lead into the break. Dockery sank three 3-pointers in the final 2:47 to help stretch the lead.

In the second half, the Hornets shot only 36% from the floor and could get no closer than 10 points, with Mobile leading by as many as 21 points in the final period.
