MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball team opened up play at the Faulkner University Tournament Friday with an 8-0, run-rule, 5-inning victory over Truett-McConnell.

Mobile (2-1) plays Southern Wesleyan at 1 pm Saturday and Shorter at 3 pm to finish out play at the tournament.

Holli McLeod finished 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI and Kirstyn Joiner finished 3-3 with 1 RBI for Mobile. Milagros Lozada went 2-2 with a walk and double as all but two batters in the Lady Rams' lineup reached base. Mayles Rodriguez reached base 3 times and scored 2 runs at the top of the lineup and Ally Scott finished with a triple and a RBI.
