MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Alice Honnery was named OnePath Systems SSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference Monday.

Honnery, a 6-2 post player from New South Wales, Australia led Mobile to a 2-0 week, including an upset over 16th-ranked Xavier and a win over rival Spring Hill.

She averaged 18 points, 14 rebounds, 6 blocks and 3.5 assists on the week. Against Xavier, she put up 15 points, 13 rebounds, 6 blocks and 6 assists. At Spring Hill, Honnery tallied 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks.

The impressive showing in the paint pushed Honnery over 100 blocks for the second-straight year, as she currently sits at 105 after swatting 135 shots last year, while setting the single-season school record. She broke the school's career mark earlier this season.

The junior ranks 1st in the NAIA in blocks per game and 3rd in defensive rebounds per contest.

Mobile will close out the regular season this week by visiting Faulkner Thursday at 5:30 and hosting Loyola Saturday at 4 pm.
