Lady Rams Fall To Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team fell 3-6 to Spring Hill College Wednesday in a battle of teams receiving votes in the NAIA Top-25.

Mobile (1-2, 0-1) hosts Judson College Thursday at 2 pm.

The Badgers took a 2-1 lead after doubles play and then swept 3-6 in singles play, giving only seven games to Mobile in those sets.

Claudia Borges and Rachel Hartley teamed up for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Nancy Machen/Kari Williams lost 0-8 at No. 2 and Treya Smith/Samantha Parrott lost 8-5 at No. 3.

Borges finished off a quick 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Hartley battled to a 7-5, 7-5 win at the No. 2 spot in the last match to finish. Meanwhile, Machen fell 2-6, 3-6 at No. 3, Parrot lost 0-6, 1-6 at No. 4, Williams fell 0-6, 1-6 at No. 5 and Smith lost 1-6, 1-6 at No. 6 singles.
