ROME, Ga-- The 25th-ranked University of Mobile softball team went 4-1 at the Shorter University Invitational over the weekend.
Mobile (8-2) hosts Bethel Tuesday, Mar. 1 at 4 pm for a double header.
Mobile 16 - Thomas 1
In the opener, Victoria Buie picked up the win by fanning 8 and allowing only 3 hits in 5 innings in the circle. Kaci Pribanic and Erica Bracey each hit 3-run homers, while Milagros Lozada added a solo shot.
Kirstyn Joiner drove in a pair and scored a pair, while Jessica Swanson went 2-4 and crossed home 3 times. Ally Scott added a 2-3 effort at the plate, while Jessica Rogers doubled and scored twice.
Martin Methodist 4 - Mobile 1
Kamaron Strickland took the loss for Mobile, while fanning three batters. At the plate, Mayles Rodriguez reached base 3 out of 4 times, and Hannah Beth Baker finished 1-2 with 1 RBI.
Mobile 14 - Bryan 1
The Lady Ram bats continued to produce at an elite level against Bryan College, while Buie picked up another win after throwing 4 hitless innings with 6 strikeouts.
Rodriguez again got things going at the top of the order with a 2-3, 3-run, 2-RBI performance. Baker finished 2-3 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs, while Kaci Pribanic finished 2-3 with 1 RBI. Swanson finished 1-2 with 2 runs scored, Bracey homered and Rogers drove in a pair.
Mobile 10 - Georgetown 5
Buie again picked up the win against Georgetown, by fanning 8 and allowing 5 hits in 5.2 innings of work.
Rodriguez finished 4-4 at the plate with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, while Kirstyn Joiner finished 3-3 with 2 walks, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Rogers collected 2 hits, swiped a bag and drove in a run, while Lozada finished 2-5 at the plate.
Mobile 8 - Milligan 4
Strickland got the win for Mobile in the final game by fanning 4 and limiting Milligan to 2 hits in 6.1 innings of work.
Lozada provided the big blow offensively, with a 1st-inning grand slam, while Pribanic finished 3-4 with 2 RBI. Swanson and Rogers each collected a pair of hits, while Holli McLeod and Rodriguez scored two runs each.
