HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the players of the week for the week ending Nov. 8, and the Rams were once again well-represented.
The men's soccer team bested Belhaven College 2-1 in the GCAC Tournament Semifinals, and for their efforts in the game, Jason Williams was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Henrique Bertoli was named Offensive Player of the Week. Williams grabbed 3 saves in the overtime win, while Bertoli came off the bench to score both goals in the victory.
The UM volleyball team defeated Loyola and Belhaven to close out the regular season to earn a pair of honors. Whitney Knight was named GCAC Player of the Week, while Melody Tenney was named GCAC Setter of the Week. Knight picked up a pair of double-doubles on the week, including a 13-kill, 20-dig effort against Loyola. Tenney, meanwhile, broke Mobile's single-season assist record with 80 assists on the week. She has 1,099 assists for the year.
Women's golf hosted the UM Fall Classic and two-time All-American Maegan Rice finished 1st individually with a 5-over 149 (74, 75). The Lady Rams finished 4th.
Alice Honnery picked up Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the Lady Rams. Mobile fell 63-57 to No. 22 Auburn-Montgomery, and Honnery posted a 12-point, 17-rebound double-double, while also dishing out 4 assists and blocking 4 shots.
