MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer season will begin the 2011 season ranked 13th in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll released Tuesday.
Mobile opens the season Aug. 25 at 6 pm against UT-Brownsville in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Lady Rams finished the 2010 season with a 13-7-1 record and advanced to the Round of 16 at the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship.
Fellow Southern States Athletic Conference member Lee University holds down the top spot in the poll after receiving 17 of 19 first-place votes. William Carey is ranked 11th, AUM is 25th, and both Faulkner and Shorter are receiving votes.
Aside from battling those SSAC schools, Mobile will face Indiana Wesleyan (8th), Martin Methodist (10th) and Carroll (21st) this season.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups. The first regular-season Top 25 poll will be announced on Sept. 6.
