No. 2 Rams Blast Mississippi College 6-0

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 2nd-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team crushed NCAA-III foe Mississippi College by a 6-0 score Friday evening at the UMobile Soccer Classic.

Mobile (3-0) will battle Univ. of Texas-Brownsville Saturday at 5 pm on the final day of the tournament being held at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

The Rams dominated from the get-go, with three goals in each half and a 25-7 shot advantage. Fourteen of those shots were on target for the Rams, while Mobile goal keeper Xavier Audergon grabbed three saves in the shutout effort.

Sophomore Deshorn Brown started the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute, when he headed home a cross from Sam Blackburn. Four minutes later, Blackburn cranked a shot near post past the keeper off of an assist from Josh Shields to make it 2-0.

Mobile kept shooting, and then Brown finished the first-half scoring in the 30th minute when he finished off of feeds from Shields and Stephen Okai, as the Rams continued to display great ball movement.

With the score sitting at 3-0, the Rams kept the tempo up in the final 45 minutes with 13 shots and three more goals.

Brown completed his hat trick in the 75th minute, when he punched home a feed from Eoin Dolan and Blackburn at point-blank range.

From there, it was Dolan finishing the scoring with a pair of goals. First, he booted home a pass from Blackburn in the 76th minute, and then he finished the scoring with a header off a feed from Shields.

Shields and Blackburn each finished with three assists in the game.
