Four UM Athletes Earn Player Of The Week Honors

HATTIESBURG,Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the GCAC Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18, and the University of Mobile had four athletes honored.

Satsuma native Jacob Morgan was named the Men's Golf Player of the Week for his showing at the NAIA Preview Invitational. At the Par-71 course, Morgan carded an opening-round 80 and followed that up with a 74 to finish 29th individually. Mobile finished 12th as a team.
 
Lady Ram golfer Maegan Rice was named Women's Golf Player of the Week for her play at the Trevecca Fall Invitational. At the Par-72 course, Rice fired a pair of 3-over 75's to finish 1st individually and lead Mobile to a 5th-place finish.
 
Missy Stovall was named Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as the Lady Rams went 1-1 in a pair of games. The freshman forward tallied a pair of goals in each game against Northwood and Covenant College to pace Mobile. That gave her a team-high 13 goals, and she now sits at 14 for the season.
 
Onesimus Ikungo was named the Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as the Rams went 1-1 in a pair of contests. Ikungo scored both goals in the week-opening 2-1 win over Northwood University.
 
Men's soccer hosts Auburn University-Montgomery Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 pm, while the Lady Rams host Spring Hill Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 7 pm. The UM men's and women's golf teams will host the UM FAll Classic Nov. 2-3.
