MOBILE, Ala-- The 9th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team blanked SSAC foe Emmanuel College 4-0 Friday afternoon at the University of Mobile.
Mobile (9-2-1, 5-1) will host Brewton-Parker Saturday at 5 pm.
The Lady Rams tallied a pair of goals in each period of play, and out shot the visiting Lady Lions 22-5, with Mobile taking 11 shots in each half.
Mobile put 13 of their 22 shots on target, while Emmanuel put only two shots on frame, with Lorna Brownlie making one save in the shutout win.
Defender Bekah Counce started the scoring for the Lady Rams with a tally in the 26th minute when she headed home a corner kick from Christy Lachappelle.
Then, nine minutes later, Lachappelle's cross into the box was deflected to the waiting Jesslyn Fagundes, and the junior forward knocked it home for the 2-0 lead.
In the final 45 minutes, Bethan Morgans scored in the 60th minute after a nice pass into the 18-yard box from Brianna Simmons, and Fagundes capped the scoring in the 66th minute with her second tally of the contest. Counce and Kassie Ruff recorded assists on the final goal.
