KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The University of Mobile's Deshorn Brown has been named the NAIA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 24-30, the national office announced Tuesday.
The sophomore forward leads the NAIA with 29 goals on the season after tallying five in two conference wins on the week.
Mobile blanked 12th-ranked Auburn-Montgomery Oct. 25 thanks in large part to a pair of goals from Brown, and then the Manchester, Jamaica native tallied a hat trick in another shutout victory over crosstown rival Spring Hill College Oct. 29.
Brown has scored multiple games in eight games this season for the Rams (15-1-1, 10-1-1). He has four hat tricks, with a season-high of five goals coming Oct. 8 against Brewton-Parker. Brown has scored in all but two games this year, and he contributed an assist in one of those contests.
Brown and the Rams won the Regular Season SSAC Championship and will host Spring Hill Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 pm in a SSAC Tournament Opening Round contest. As co-host of the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Nov. 28 - Dec. 3, the Rams get an automatic bid to the Round of 16 in Orange Beach, Ala.
