Lady Rams Split Twin Bill With Badgers

MOBILE, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile softball team split with rival Spring Hill College Wednesday. Spring Hill took the opener 5-4 in 8 innings, while Mobile took the finale 7-2. Mobile (24-10, 6-7) hosts Belhaven University Friday at 5 pm for a SSAC twin bill. Kamaron Strickland got the win in the finale for Mobile, limiting the Badgers to two runs on four hits in a complete-game effort.

No. 22 Lady Rams Grab Pair Of One-Run Wins At Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss-- The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile softball team picked up a pair of one-run victories at SSAC foe Belhaven University Friday. Mobile took the opener 5-4 and won the finale 7-6. Mobile (23-9, 5-6) will host rival Spring Hill April 11 at 1 pm for a SSAC twin bill. In the opener, the Lady Rams rallied for three runs in the 6th inning to pick up the 5-4 win. After being held to two hits in the previous four innings, Mobile plated three on three hits in the 6th.

No. 7 Lady Crusaders Take Two From Mobile

MOBILE, Ala-- The 7th-ranked William Carey University Lady Crusaders rallied late to sweep both games of a SSAC doubleheader over the 24th-ranked University of Mobile softball team Monday. Mobile dropped the opener 3-1 and fell in the finale 4-2. Mobile (21-9, 3-6) visits Belhaven University Friday, April 6 for a 1 pm conference twin bill. William Carey moves to 29-6 overall and 6-2 in conference. Game one saw Alyssa Boutwell out-duel Kamaron Strickland to get the win. Boutwell limited Mobile to 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 4 in a complete-game effort. Strickland took the loss after giving up 3 runs on 8 hits in 6.2 innings of work.

Lady Rams Fall To No. 12 Shorter

COLUMBUS, Ga-- The 12th-ranked Shorter University Lady Hawks defeated the 24th-ranked University of Mobile softball team 5-1 Friday at the SSAC Crossover Tournament. Mobile (21-7, 3-4) will battle 8th-ranked Brenau Saturday at 9 am and Brewton Parker at 2 pm. Shorter's Maddie Bray scattered 7 hits in the complete-game win, while limiting Mobile to 1 run. Kamaron Strickland took the loss after giving up 5 runs on 6 hits in 3.1 innings of work.

No. 24 Lady Rams Win Pair At SSAC Crossover Tourney

COLUMBUS, Ga-- The 24th-ranked University of Mobile softball team held on for a pair of one-run victories Thursday, on day one of the 2012 SSAC Crossover. The Lady Rams beat Southern Wesleyan 4-3 and took down 16th-ranked Lee University 3-2. Mobile (21-6, 3-3) will face a trio of teams Friday. They will battle Shorter at 11, Emmanuel at 4 and Truett-McConnell at 6. In the opener, Kamaron Strickland got the win after allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 4.1 innings of work. Alli Hall came in and threw 2.2 innings of no-hit relief to pick up the save.

UMobile Softball Sweeps Columbia By 1-0 Scores

MOBILE, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from Columbia College by a pair of 1-0 scores Monday. Mobile (19-6, 1-3) will travel to Columbus, Ga., to compete in the SSAC Crossover Tournament Thursday-Saturday. Mobile will battle Southern Wesleyan at 3 pm and Lee University at 5 pm on Thursday to start the tourney. Kamaron Strickland twirled 7 innings of 4-hit shutout ball in the opener, striking out 4 batters and walking 1. Jordan Crisp took the loss after giving up 1 unearned run on 3 hits in 6 innings of action for Columbia.

No. 23 Lady Rams Drop Pair To No. 19 Warhawks

MOBILE, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile softball team dropped a SSAC twin bill to 19th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery Sunday, falling 1-0 in the opener and dropping the finale 3-2 in 11 innings. Mobile (17-6, 1-3) will host Columbia College Monday at 4 pm for a non-conference doubleheader. Cassie Daniels out-dueled Kamaron Strickland to grab the win in the opener. Daniels went the distance, allowing no runs on 6 hits and fanning 4. Strickland took the loss despite giving up only 1 run on 5 hits in a complete-game effort.

Lady Rams Split Twin Bill With Faulkner

MOBILE, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile softball team split a Southern States Athletic Conference doubleheader with visiting Faulkner University Tuesday, taking the opener 1-0 and falling 3-2 in the finale. Mobile (17-4, 1-1) will host 13th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery Friday at 4 pm for a twin bill. Game one saw Kamaron Strickland outduel Missy Duke to pick up the 1-0 victory. Strickland twirled a 3-hit shutout for Mobile, striking out 3 and walking a pair. Duke gave up 1 run on 9 hits in 6 innings of work.

Lady Rams Blast Lady Bison 8-1

MOBILE, Ala-- The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile softball team defeated Oklahoma Baptist 8-1 in a non-conference game Sunday afternoon. Mobile (16-3) will host SSAC foe Faulkner University Tuesday for a 4 pm doubleheader. Alli Hall got the win for the Lady Rams, limiting the Lady Bison to 1 run on 3 hits in a complete-game effort. She fanned 1 and walked 3. Noelle McDowell took the loss for OBU after giving up 7 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits in 3 innings of work.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile softball team split at the William Carey Invitational Friday, beating Oklahoma Baptist 6-0 and falling to 17th-ranked Union 5-1. Mobile (15-3) hosts Oklahoma Baptist for a doubleheader Sunday at 3 pm. In the opener, Kamaron Strickland needed only 65 pitches to toss a complete-game three-hit shutout. She walked none and struck out three.
