KANSAS CITY, Mo—The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 24 qualifiers for the 2011 NAIA Women’s Tennis National Championship and the University of Mobile received the host bid. The tournament takes place May 17-21 at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Lady Rams (7-8) beat out Spring Hill for the host bid and are making their 7th-straight appearance and 18th trip overall.

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 4th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery women's tennis team defeated the University of Mobile 7-2 at the 2011 SSAC Tournament Friday. The Lady Senators dominated play from the start, with Mobile picking up default victories at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. Auburn-Montgomery swept No. 1 and 2 doubles by 8-0 scores and allowed Mobile to take only two games in singles action.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team picked up an impressive 7-2 victory over Loyola University Saturday afternoon in SSAC West tennis action. Mobile (7-7) will await play in the 2011 SSAC Tournament April 29-30 in Montgomery. The Lady Rams' No. 1 doubles tandem of Claudia Borges and Nancy Machen fell 9-7, while Rachel Hartley and Treya Smith won 8-1 at No. 2 and Tracy Cullum - Cynthia Summersgill picked up a win by default at No. 3 doubles.

MOBILE, Ala- The University of Mobile women's tennis team fell to rival Spring Hill 6-3 Thursday. Mobile (6-7) hosts Loyola University Saturday at 11 am. The Badgers took No. 1 and No. 2 doubles by 8-4 and 8-2 scores, while Mobile salvaged a win at No. 3 doubles with an 8-5 victory from the duo of Rachel Hartley and Treya Smith.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team fell 1-8 to 13th-ranked William Carey University Tuesday in SSAC West action. William Carey rolled through doubles play to build a 3-0 lead and cruised from there. Mobile put up a fight in the top two singles spots, with Claudia Borges winning 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 and Rachel Hartley falling 4-6, 6-2 (4-7) at No. 2. Mobile managed only three games combined in the other four singles matches.

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team picked up two victories in a weekend road trip to Jackson, MS. The Lady Rams defeated Millsaps and Tougaloo, while they fell to Belhaven University. Mobile (6-5, 1-3) hosts William Carey Tuesday at 2 pm.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday. Mobile fell 3-5 to SSAC West foe Belhaven and then defeated non-conference opponent Tougaloo 6-3. Against Belhaven, Rachel Hartley and Emily Kolakoski teamed up for the only doubles victory, an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles. Claudia Borges - Kari Williams fell 5-8 at No. 1 and Nancy Machen - Samantha Parrot lost 1-8 at No. 2.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team fell to NCAA I University of New Orleans 2-5 Saturday afternoon. The doubles tandem of Cynthia Summersgill and Nancy Machen picked upa default win at No. 3 doubles, while Kari Williams picked up a default win at the No. 5 singles spot. The other spots where Mobile came closest to picking up victories were No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis program announced the signing of Ambria Phillips for the 2012 season. Phillips attends Gautier High School, where she is a 3-year member of the varsity tennis team and 5-year member of the soccer team.
