MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team announced the signing of two local products for the 2011 season. Satsuma product Cynthia Summersgill and Citronelle's Shelby McCreedy will join the Lady Rams beginning with next season. Summersgill played only one season of tennis at Satsuma, but put up a very solid 9-3 record from No. 4 singles. Prior to that she ran cross country for the Gators and qualified for the State Championships in the 2009-10 season.

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the bracket for the 30th Annual NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship Tuesday, and the University of Mobile will open versus Lewis-Clark State (Idaho). The tournament will take place May 18-22 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center. The Lady Rams (17-5) are making their 6th-consecutive trip to nationals and 17th trip overall, while Lewis-Clark State is making its 14th-straight trip and 17th overall.

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The 21st-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team received the host bid to the 30th Annual NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The tournament will take place May 18-22 at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center. The Lady Rams will be joining the elite field for the 6th-straight year and 17th time overall. There are 24 teams in the field, with six-time defending National Champion Auburn Montgomery leading the field.

MOBILE, Ala-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the All-GCAC Women's Tennis Team Saturday, and the University of Mobile had three athletes honored. Mobile native Rachel Hartley was named All-GCAC at No. 3 singles, while the duo of Claudia Borges and Nancy Machen was named All-GCAC at No. 3 doubles. Borges is a native of Compinas, Brazil, while Machen is a native of Boaz, Ala.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team fell in the semifinals of the 2010 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Friday. The Lady Rams (17-5) started the day with a 5-0 victory over Belhaven University, before falling to No. 20 William Carey University 6-2 in the semifinals. Mobile will await word on whether or not it will receive the host bid to the 2010 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, which is held May 18-22 at the Copeland-Cox Center in Mobile.

New Orleans, La-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team defeated LSU-Shreveport 6-0 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Thursday to close out the regular season. Mobile moves to 16-4 overall and 10-4 in GCAC action. Mobile will face Belhaven University Friday, April 30 at 9 am in the first round of the 2010 GCAC Tournament at the University of New Orleans Tennis Center.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team defeated Loyola University-New Orleans 8-1 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Saturday. The Lady Rams (15-4, 9-4) next play LSU-Shreveport Thursday, April 29 at a time to be announced in New Orleans. Mobile got wins from Rachel Hartley-Zelie Pfeiffer at No. 1 doubles and Claudia Borges-Nancy Machen at No. 3 doubles.

MONTEVALLO, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team defeated NCAA II University of Montevallo 5-4 Friday afternoon. The Lady Rams (14-4, 8-4) host Gulf Coast Athletic Conference foe Loyola University-New Orleans Saturday at 10 am. Mobile picked up a pair of wins in doubles play to take a 2-1 lead, and then cruised in the top three singles spots to take the match.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's and women's tennis teams fell at William Carey University in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening. Mobile's men fell 6-3, while the 23rd-ranked Lady Rams fell to the 20th-ranked Lady Saders 7-2.
