UMobile 16th In NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – The University of Mobile (AL) is 16th in the second set of Learfield Sports Directors' Cup fall standings. Olivet Nazarene (IL) leads after collecting 258.00 total points after finishing second in women’ soccer, third in women’s cross country, ninth in men’s soccer and 22nd overall in men’s cross country.

Two Volleyball Players Earn Scholar Athlete Honors

SIOUX CITY, Iowa-- The University of Mobile volleyball team had two players named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Lindsay Taylor and Tayler Houseknecht made the list for Mobile, while the NAIA had 408 volleyball student-athletes honored overall.

Five Volleyball Players Earn SSAC Honors

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The Southern States Athletic Conference released the year-end volleyball awards Friday evening, and the University of Mobile had five players honored. Kiara Gay was named 1st-Team All-Conference, Sara Van Wert and Disah Kolassiba were named 2nd-Team All-Conference and Bailey Nations was named to the All-Freshmen Team. Tayler Houseknecht was the team's Musco Lighting Champion of Character selection.

Four Named To Capital One Academic All-District Team

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile had four student-athletes named to the Captial One Academic All-District Team for District 2 (College Division) as selected by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA). Lindsay Taylor chosen for volleyball and Christy Lachappelle, Kelsie Ruff and Olivia Maddox chosen for women's soccer.

Lady Rams End Season At SSAC Tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team finished the season at the SSAC Tournament Thursday, falling twice in pool play action. Mobile lost to Lee University 0-3 (14-25, 21-25, 20-25) in the first match of the day and then fell 0-3 (18-25, 23-25, 20-25) to Emmanuel. Mobile finishes the season at 24-13. Against Lee, Kiara Gay led with 11 kills and 9 digs, while Bailey Nations added 9 kills and hit .350, and Disah Kolassiba added 7 kills with a .267 hitting percentage.

Lady Rams Close Regular Season With 3-1 Win

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-15) non-conference win over Dillard University Monday. Mobile (24-11) will next play at the 2012 SSAC Tournament Nov. 8-10 in Montgomery, Ala., as the No. 8 seed. Mobile will face Lee University Thursday at 10 am and Emmanuel at 3 pm.

Lady Rams Drop Volleyball Match At Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team fell 1-3 (18-25, 16-25, 25-19, 19-25) at Spring Hill College Thursday evening to close out SSAC regular season action. Mobile (23-11, 7-7) closes out the regular season at home Monday at 7:30 pm against Dillard. The Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament takes place in Montgomery, Ala., Nov. 9-10.
