West Florida Defeats Rams 17-6

PENSACOLA, Fla-- Despite racking up 13 hits and building a 3-0 lead after 2.5 innings, the University of Mobile baseball team fell 17-6 at NCAA II University of West Florida Tuesday evening. Mobile (27-17, 5-7) will return home to host SSAC West foe Auburn University-Montgomery this weekend, beginning with a 2 pm contest on Friday. West Florida improves to 35-4 on the season. Ryne Phillips and Sam Mahoney each went 3-4 with 1 RBI for Mobile at the plate, while Cody Barber went 2-4 with a solo home run and Jeremy Williams and Cameron White each added a pair of hits.

Rams Sweep Hawks By 3-1 And 11-1 Scores

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile dominated Shorter University Saturday in a non-conference doubleheader, taking the opener 3-1 in 7 innings and then run-ruling the Hawks 11-1 in 7 innings in the finale. Mobile (27-16, 5-7) will visit University of West Florida Tuesday, Apr. 12 at 5 pm. The opener saw Josh Blaylock handcuff the Hawks' offense to pick up the win. The junior limited Shorter to 1 run on 6 hits in 7 innings of work. He struck out 6. Cameron While went 1-1 with 2 RBI for Mobile, while Cody Barber finished 1-3 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

Shorter Out-Slugs Mobile In Series Opener

MOBILE, Ala-- Shorter University out-slugged the University of Mobile 12-10 in NAIA baseball action Friday afternoon. Mobile (25-16) hosts Shorter (32-11) for a 1 pm doubleheader Saturday to finish the series. The game featured 22 combined runs, 30 combined hits, 10 combined errors and 24 combined runners left on base. Six pitchers appeared in the game and threw 330 combined pitches.

Rams Split Twin Bill With Thomas University

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with visiting Thomas University Wednesday, winning the opener 10-0 in a run-rule 6-inning win and falling 9-4 in an 8-inning finale. Mobile (25-15) hosts Shorter University for a 3-game set this weekend, beginning with a 2 pm contest Friday. Game one saw the Rams roll behind 9 hits and 8 walks and a strong pitching performance from Chris Peacock.

Mobile Rams Defeat Rival Badgers 5-2 In Non-Conference Game

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team defeated rival Spring Hill College 5-2 in non-conference action Tuesday evening at Stan Galle Field. Mobile (24-14) hosts Thomas University Wednesday, Apr. 6 at 1 pm for a non-conference doubleheader. Corey Fountain got the win for Mobile after limiting the Badgers to 1 earned run on 7 hits in 6.2 innings of stellar mound work. The lefty fanned 5 and walked 3. John Ladnier picked up the save with 1 inning of 1-hit, shutout relief.

Rams Drop Saturday Twin Bill To Wolfpack

WESTWEGO, La-- Loyola University swept Saturday's SSAC West baseball twin bill from the University of Mobile by scores of 2-1 and 5-2. The Wolfpack took the opener 2-1 in 7 innings as the Rams could not capitalize on 6 hits and 6 walks. George Smith got the win for Loyola by striking out 7 Rams in the complete-game effort and allowing only 1 earned run to out-duel Josh Blaylock, who took the loss for Mobile after giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits in 6 innings of work. He struck out 4 and walked 3.

Wolfpack Top Rams In SSAC West Series Opener

WESTWEGO, La-- Loyola University edged the University of Mobile 6-5 in a SSAC West baseball game Friday evening. Mobile (23-12, 5-5) and Loyola (11-25, 3-4) will finish the 3-game set with a 1 pm doubleheader Saturday. Tyler Duplantis's RBI-single in the bottom of the 9th won the game for the Wolfpack, and made a winner out of Carl Labit, who threw .2 innings of perfect relief. John Ladnier took the loss in relief for the Rams after giving up 1 unearned run on 3 hits in .1 innings of work.

Rams Postpone Wednesday's Scheduled Twin Bill

MOBILE, Ala-- With Mobile expecting inclement weather Wednesday, Mar. 30, the University of Mobile baseball team has postponed its home doubleheader with Thomas University to April 6 at 1 pm. Mobile sits at 23-11 overall and 5-4 in SSAC West play and will next play this weekend at Loyola University in a conference 3-game set. The series will open Friday at 6 pm and close with a 1 pm doubleheader on Saturday.

Williams Named OnePath Systems SSAC POW

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Jeremy Williams was named OnePath Systems SSAC Baseball Player of the Week Monday. The junior outfielder from Bellwood, AL hit .600 on the week as the Rams went 4-1, including taking 2-of-3 from SSAC West foe William Carey University. Williams also slugged .900, hit 2 home runs and finished with 6 RBI.

Mobile Baseball Splits With William Carey

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile split with William Carey Saturday in SSAC West baseball action. Mobile took the opener 5-2 in 7 innings before falling 16-7 in the 9-inning finale. Mobile (23-11, 5-4) hosts Thomas University for a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday, Mar. 30 at 1 pm. In the opener, Mobile scored 5 runs through the first 3 innings before holding on for the 5-2 victory.
