MOBILE, Ala-- One game after picking up the program's historic 700th win, the University of Mobile baseball team fell 4-8 to the rival Spring Hill College Badgers on the back end of Friday's SSAC West doubleheader. Chris Peacock (2-1) took the loss for Mobile after surrendering 7 runs on 7 hits in 1.2 innings of work. Corey Fountain kept the Rams in the game with 7.1 innings of 3-hit, 1-run ball, but they could not rally.

MOBILE, Ala-- Friday's SSAC West series-opening 7-3 win over rival Spring Hill was more than just a 1-0 start in conference play for the University of Mobile baseball team, it was history, as Head Coach Mike Jacobs notched his 700th career victory. Jacobs began his collegiate coaching career in 1990 when he started the UMobile baseball program, and he has racked up a 700-443-2 record in his 21+ years at Mobile. In that time, he has guided the Rams to 13 seasons of 30+ victories, 3 seasons of 40+ wins, and one NAIA College World Series appearance in 2001. Mobile won a school-record 43 games in 2008.

MOBILE, Ala-- Due to expected rain on Saturday, the University of Mobile baseball team has announced changes to its 3-game series with rival Spring hill. The two teams will now play a doubleheader Friday at 12 pm and play a single game Saturday at a time to be determined. UMobile Head Coach Mike Jacobs enters the SSAC West series 1 win shy of 700 career victories.

THOMASVILLE, Ga-- The University of Mobile baseball team finished off a 3-game sweep of Thomas University Saturday by sweeping the doubleheader by scores of 5-4 and 3-0 in a pair of 7-inning contests. Mobile (12-5) hosts Spring Hill College for a 3-game SSAC West series this weekend, beginning with a single game Friday, Mar. 4 at 2 pm.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team swept a pair of non-conference games from Concordia College-Selma Tuesday, winning the opener 11-1 in a run-rule, 5-inning victory and taking the finale 6-5 in 7 innings. Jacob Knowles picked up the win in the opener with 4 innings of 2-hit, 1-run ball, while fanning 2 batters. Jeremy Williams finished 2-3 with 3 RBI and 2 runs, while Sam Mahoney finished 2-2 with 2 RBI and a home run. Ryne Phillips added a 3-run pinch-hit homer and Ben Negus scored 3 runs from the leadoff spot.

TALLADEGA, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team fell 6-1 at Talladega College Friday in non-conference play. Mobile (5-5) will finish out the 3-game series with a noon doubleheader Saturday. Ryan Pettus picked up the win for the Tornadoes by allowing 0 earned runs (1 run) on 6 hits in 5 innings while fanning 1. Michael King took the loss for the Rams after allowing 5 earned runs on 9 hits in 6 innings of action.

MOBILE, Ala-- Cody Barber's walk-off 3-run home run in the bottom of the 7th in Saturday's finale gave Mobile a 4-3 win over Talladega College after dropping the opener 10-9 in 10 innings. Mobile (5-4) will visit Talladega for a 3-game series beginning with a 1 pm game Friday, Feb. 18. Tornadoes starter James Rodriguez had breezed through 6 innings of 2-hit, shutout ball before running into trouble with a 3-run lead in the final inning.

MOBILE, Ala-- Dominant pitching a pair of big plays in timely situations keyed the University of Mobile's 2-1 7-inning victory over visiting Talladega College Friday afternoon at the University of Mobile. Mobile (4-3) and Talladega (0-4) will finish the 3-game series with a 12 pm double header Saturday. Michael King (1-0) picked up the win after fanning 8 batters and allowing only 1 unearned run on 2 hits in 6 innings. John Ladnier worked a scoreless 7th for his 2nd save of the year.

Westwego, La.- The University of Mobile baseball team (3-3) dropped a pair of non-conference games at Loyola University Tuesday, dropping the opener 7-5 and falling 5-2 in the finale. Mobile will host Talladega College for a 3-game set this weekend, with a single game Friday at 2 pm and a double header Saturday at 12. In the first game, the Wolfpack capitalized on five Mobile errors on the way to a 7-5 victory.
