Rams Take Down Truett McConnell 12-4 In Opener

CLEVELAND, Ga-- The University of Mobile baseball team trounced Truett McConnell 12-4 Friday in the SSAC series-opener. Mobile (20-22, 11-14) and Truett (17-27-1, 5-19) will complete the series with a doubleheader Saturday at 1 pm. The Rams' offense touched up a trio of Truett pitchers for 12 runs on 13 hits, including seven runs over the first three innings to overcome a four-spot from the Bears in the bottom of the 1st.

No. 6 Faulkner Eagles Sweep DH From Rams

MOBILE, Ala-- The 6th-ranked Faulkner University Eagles swept Saturday's SSAC baseball twin bill from the University of Mobile by scores of 3-1 and 4-2. Mobile (19-22, 10-14) will visit Truett McConnell for a three-game conference series, beginning Friday, April 13 at 3 pm. In the opener, Will Dismukes out-dueled Ryan Hines to pick up the complete-game win.

Rams' Rally Falls Short Against No. 6 Faulkner

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team rallied late, but fell just-short against No. 6 Faulkner University, dropping the series opener 5-4 Friday at Jacobs Field. Mobile (19-20, 10-12) and Faulkner (34-9, 19-3) will finish the series with a doubleheader Saturday at 1 pm. The Rams entered the bottom of the 9th trailing 5-1 against Corey Black, who had held the team to 1 unearned run on 2 hits in through 8 innings.

Rams Score 11 Runs On 20 Hits To Beat UNO

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile baseball team went on the road to stomp non-conference foe University of New Orleans 11-1 Tuesday evening. Mobile (19-19, 10-11) hosts SSAC foe Faulkner University for a three-game series this weekend, beginning with a single game Friday at 2 pm and concludes with a twin bill Saturday at 1 pm. The Rams pounded out 11 runs on 20 hits, while a trio of UMobile pitchers held the Privateers to 1 run on 8 hits. Ten different Rams recorded a hit and six of those hitters had multi-hit games.

Rams Drop Rubber Match At Auburn Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 16th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery Warhawks took the rubber match from the University of Mobile 6-5 Sunday to take the three-game SSAC baseball series. Mobile (18-19, 10-11) visits University of New Orleans Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Forrest Holifield picked up the win for AUM with 3 innings of one-hit shutout relief. Blake Hanson was tagged with the loss for Mobile after giving up 5 earned runs on 10 hits in 7.1 innings of work.

UMobile Baseball Earns Split At No. 16 AUM

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split Saturday's twin bill at No. 16 Auburn University-Montgomery, taking the 7-inning opener 8-4 and falling 12-2 in an 8-inning finale. Mobile (18-18, 10-10) and AUM (25-16, 14-6) will wrap the series with a single game Sunday at 1 pm. In the opener, Josh Blaylock allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in the 1st inning, but settled down and allowed only 3 hits the rest of the way, holding the Warhawks scoreless over the final six innings. He struck out 4 and walked a pair.

Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Thomas

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile Rams split a non-conference twin bill with Thomas University Tuesday, falling 8-6 in 10 innings in the opener and taking the 7-inning finale 6-3. Mobile (17-17, 9-9) visits Auburn University-Montgomery this weekend for a three-game SSAC series, beginning with a 6 pm contest Friday. In the finale, Cole Vaughan worked 5 innings of 5 hit ball to grab the win. The lefty allowed 2 earned runs and struck out 2 while throwing 60 pitches. Drew Esslinger worked a perfect 7th for the save.

Shorter Hawks Take Rubber Match From Rams

ROME, Ga-- The Shorter University Hawks took Sunday's rubber match 17-11 over the University of Mobile in the SSAC baseball series. Mobile (16-16, 9-9) hosts Thomas University for a non-conference twin bill Tuesday at 1 pm. The Hawks plated 17 runs on 19 hits, while the Rams scored 11 runs on 17 hits. Josh Blaylock went 5-for-6 for Mobile, Ryne Phillips finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and John Soutullo, Ryan Waltman and Parker Hollinghead each added a pair of hits for the Rams.

Rams Split SSAC Twin Bill At Shorter

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile split a SSAC baseball twin bill against Shorter University Saturday, taking the 7-inning opener 8-3 and falling 10-5 in the finale. Mobile (16-15, 9-8) and Shorter (22-10, 11-6) will wrap up the series Sunday at 1 pm. Michael King went the distance in the opener to grab the win for Mobile, limiting Shorter to 3 runs on 4 hits in 7 innings of mound work. He struck out 6 and walked 4. At the plate, Braxton Hamil went 2-for-4 with a 3-run homer, Ryne Phillips added 2 hits and 3 RBI and Ryan Waltman went 2-for-3 at the dish.

UMobile Baseball Splits Pair At Talladega

TALLADEGA, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader at Talladega College Tuesday. The Rams took the opener 7-4 before falling 5-1 in the finale. Mobile (15-14, 8-7) visits Shorter University for a three-game set this weekend, beginning Friday at 2 pm. Corey Fountain got the win in the opener with 2 innings of perfect relief, and Josh Blaylock picked up the save with .2 innings of scoreless relief.
