Men's Golf Finished 8th At FSCC Spring Invitational

FAIRHOPE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished 8th at the Faulkner State Community College Spring Invitational at Rock Creek's Par-72, 6,920-yard course. The Rams shaved 17 strokes off their opening round 323 to shoot a 306 in the final round and finished at 53-over 629. Wallace State CC won the tournament with a 13-over 589 (297, 292), while Central Alabama turned in the best round of the tournament with a 287 in the final round to finish 2nd by 6 strokes.

UMobile Men Place 5th At Start 2 Finish Webber Classic

LAKE WALES, Fla.-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 5th place at the 2011 Start 2 Finish Webber Classic at Lake Wales CC. The Rams finished the 3-round event at the Par-71, 7,072 yard course with an 89-over 941 (315, 310, 316). That put Mobile 33 strokes behind winner University of Tampa, which shot a 56-over 908 (310, 303, 295).

Mobile Men Open 2011 Spring Season

LAKE WALES, Fla-- The University of Mobile men's golf team kicked off the 2011 spring season at the Start 2 Finish Webber Classic Sunday with two rounds of play at the 71-under, 7,072 yard Lake Wales CC. Mobile sits at +57 625 (315, 310) in 7th place, while host Webber International leads the pack with a 39-over 607 (311, 296). University of Tampa sits in 2nd with a 45-over 613 (310, 303).

Rams Climb To 4th At Home Tournament

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 4th place at the University of Mobile Rams Fall Invitational. The two-round tournament was played at Heron Lakes Country Club. Mobile turned in a second-round best 7-over 295 to finish 4th at 32-over 608 (313, 295), while Shorter University held on with a 24-over 600 (291, 309) to win the tournament.

UMobile Men's Golf Fall Classic Underway

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team sits in 8th place after round one of the University of Mobile Fall Classic at Heron Lakes Country Club Monday. Shorter University leads the field after carding a +3 291, while the Rams fired a 25-over 313. Fellow SSAC schools Lee (2nd, 302), Faulkner (4th, 303) and William Carey (5th, 304) sit in front of the Rams.

Rams Place 7th At SeeMore NAIA Intercollegiate

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 7th place at the SeeMore NAIA Intercollegiate, hosted by SCAD at Wilmington Island Club. It was a three-round tournament at the Par-71, 6715-yard course. The Rams fired an 84-over 936 (311, 323, 302) to finish in 7th, while USC Beaufort won the tournament with a 10-over 862 (292, 286, 284).

Southern States Showcase Set to Air October 20

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, will add a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveils its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. The “Southern States Showcase” will feature 18 thirty-minute weekly episodes on SportSouth (Fox regional sports network) reaching more than 10 million households. The show will air three times weekly across six southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) beginning the week of October 18.

Men's Golf Competes At Jim Redgate Invitational

MERIDIAN, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 7th place at the Jim Redgate Invitational Tuesday. The tournament was hosted by Meridian Community College at the Briarwood Country Club's Par-72, 6928-yard course. The Rams carded a 55-over 919 (313, 305, 301) in the three-round event, while Wallace State CC won the tournament with an 11-over 875 (289, 293, 293).

Men's Golf Finishes 8th At Derrall Foreman Invite

CLEVELAND, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished in 8th place at the Derrall Foreman Invitational, hosted by Delta State University. Mobile shot a two-round +34 610 (305, 305), while University of North Alabama won the event with a 26-under 550 (277, 273). Alejandro Salcedo led Mobile with a tie for 27th after firing a 5-over 149 (75, 74).
