#14 Rams Rally Past Bethel Wildcats 2-1

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 14th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team used a pair of second half goals to rally past 2008 NAIA National Champion Bethel University 2-1 Saturday evening in Orange Beach. Mobile (6-1-1) hosts Shorter University Friday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 pm. Bethel struck first on a goal from Armando Guell in the 6th minute, when Felix Obilo's long ball beat the Mobile defense, allowing Guell to get to it and punch it in, just ahead of the goalkeeper.

No. 14 Rams Keep Rolling; Beat Northwood 3-1

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 14th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team downed Northwood University 3-1 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex Friday evening under the lights. The Rams dominated play, finishing with 21 shots, while Northwood did not get its first shot off until 54 minutes had gone off the clock. Mobile put seven shots on target, while the Knights put three on target. Jason Williams finished with two saves for Mobile, while David Etale made four saves for Northwood.

Men's Soccer Climbs To No. 14 In NAIA Top-25

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team jumped up to No. 14 in the third regular season edition of the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Rams (4-1-1) jumped up from receiving 18 votes in last week's poll to now receiving 372 points, just five behind 13th-ranked William Jewell College. The leap came after a big week for the Rams. Mobile beat then-No. 23 Southern Polytechnic State University 3-2 in double-overtime Friday and then blanked then-No. 3 Embry-Riddle 3-0 on Saturday.

Ikungo Named Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

MOBILE, Ala-- The Southern States Athletic Conference released the OnePath Systems SSAC Players of the Week and Onesimus Ikungo was named Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The Rams (4-1-1) went 2-0 on the week, beating 23rd-ranked Southern Polytechnic State University 3-2 in double-overtime and then blanking 3rd-ranked Embry-Riddle 3-0. Ikungo, a senior forward from Kampala, Uganda, played a big part in Saturday's win over the ERAU Eagles.

Rams Blank #3 Embry-Riddle 3-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team blanked 3rd-ranked Embry-Riddle 3-0 in NAIA soccer action Saturday evening. Mobile (4-1-1) next play in Orange Beach Friday, Sept. 24 at 7 pm versus Northwood University (TX). The Rams controlled tempo all game, out shooting ERAU 19-7 for the game and 11-2 in the second half. Goalkeeper Jason Williams finished with a 3-save shutout for the Rams, while Embry's Kile Kennedy made 5 saves and allowed 3 goals.

Rams Slip Past #23 Hornets In 2OT

MOBILE, Ala-- Deshorn Brown's goal in the 108th minute gave the University of Mobile a 3-2 double-overtime victory over 23rd-ranked Southern Polytechnic State University Friday at the University of Mobile. Mobile (3-1-1) returns to action at home Saturday at 7:30 versus 3rd-ranked Embry-Riddle University (Fla.). With the game tied up at 2-2 and the clock winding down towards a tie, Brown danced through a pair of defenders and then beat Southern Poly goalkeeper Eric Ati to the ball, flicking the ball over the charging keeper into the back of the net.

No. 16 UM Men Fall 0-2 To Northwood

MOBILE, Ala-- The 16th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer game headed into Friday's contest with visiting Northwood University having outscored opponents 6-1 in three contests on the season. That changed Friday, as the Northwood Seahawks blanked the Rams 2-0. Mobile (2-1-1) hosts the UM Classic Sept. 17-18. Mobile will face Southern Polytechnic State Friday and Embry-Riddle on Saturday.

Mobile Men Climb To #16

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team climbed from receiving votes to No. 16 in the first regular season edition of the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Rams are 2-0-1 on the season, with only a 0-0 double-overtime tie versus 6th-ranked Martin Methodist keeping the team from a 3-0 mark. Mobile defeated then-No. 18 Bethel College 3-1 to open the season and blasted Milligan College 3-0.

Three UM Athletes Earn Player of the Week Honors

MOBILE, Ala-- Three University of Mobile athletes were named OnePath Systems SSAC Players of the Week, as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference. Jason Williams was named Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, Deshorn Brown was named Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, and Allie Wheeler was named Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Rams Blank Milligan 3-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team improved to 2-0-1 on the season by blanking Milligan College 3-0 at Auburn-Montgomery's Captial City Classic Saturday. The Rams' defense held strong all game and the offense scored early and late to pick up the victory. Jason Williams collected a three-save shutout in goal for Mobile and the UM defenders held Milligan to only seven shot attempts. On the other hand, the Mobile offense took 20 shots in the game, putting seven on target.
