MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team battled 6th-ranked Martin Methodist College to a 0-0 double-overtime tie Friday afternoon at the Capital City Classic. The Rams (1-0-1) will battle Milligan College Saturday at 12 pm on the final day of the Capital City Classic. Mobile kept the pressure on much of the game, outshooting the Redhawks 25-6 and finishing with a 7-0 edge in shots on goal, but Martin Methodist goalkeeper James Colman was up to the challenge with a seven-save shutout in 110 minutes of action.

MOBILE, Ala-- A pair of first-half goals propelled the University of Mobile men's soccer team to a season-opening 3-1 win over 18th-ranked Bethel College Thursday evening at the University of Mobile. The Rams controlled the tempo in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting the visitors 7-1 and putting 3 shots on target. Newcomer Deshorn Brown got the scoring started in the 17th minute when he knocked home a rebound after Chris Dillon's header was stopped by Cody Troyer.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team received 14 votes in the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday. Mobile is ninth among teams receiving votes, while defending National Champion Lindsey Wilson College tops the poll after going 20-2-1 in 2009. The Rams will receive an automatic bid to the Round of 16 at the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championships, since the University of Mobile is hosting the tournament in conjunction with the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission Nov. 29 - Dec. 4.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer program added Daniel Whelan as Assistant Coach. Whelan comes to Mobile after coaching stints at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Spring Hill College. "I'm really excited about the opportunity to work with a program with such a great tradition, and to have the chance to work with Coach Fuller," Whelan said. The Manchester, England native served as a volunteer coach at Embry-Riddle in 2007 and served as interim head coach for the Spring Hill College men's and women's soccer teams in 2009.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2010 Thomas Howell Cup winner Tuesday and Belhaven University edged out the University of Mobile to win the coveted trophy for the first time in school history. The Thomas Howell Cup is awarded to the school with the highest number of points based on the order of finish in the various sports they participate in.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA announced Wednesday the 2010 and 2011 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championships will be hosted by the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission, in conjunction with the University of Mobile. The events will be played at Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. The 2010 Championship will occur Nov. 29-Dec. 4 and the 2011 event will be contested Nov. 28-Dec. 3.

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile's Chris Dillon was named a 2009 Honorable Mention NAIA Men's Soccer All-American Saturday.
The NAIA released a first-team, second-team, third-team and honorable mention selections as selected by the NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Selection Committee.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team saw its season come to an end Saturday, as the Rams fell 0-2 to No. 18 Embry-Riddle in a National Championship Opening Round Game.
The loss snapped a 4-game winning streak for Mobile, and the Rams end the season with a 9-11 record.
