UMobile Women's Basketball Falls To Tuskegee

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 58-61 to Tuskegee University in the Xavier Classic Thursday evening. Mobile (2-4) will play Rust College Friday at 12 pm in the tournament. Briana Edwards led the Lady Rams with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Alice Honnery finished with 10 points and 9 boards and Courtney Bayliss added 10 points.

UMobile Women Fall At Brewton-Parker

MT. VERNON, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 65-73 at Brewton-Parker College in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon. Mobile (2-3, 1-1) next plays against Tuskegee University at Xavier University-Louisiana Thursday, Nov. 24 at 5 pm. Alice Honnery led Mobile with 21 points and 13 rebounds, Leana Tajkov added 11 points and 3 rebounds, Courtney Bayliss added 11 points and 3 boards and Morgan Melancon finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds.

Last-Second Three-Pointer Gives Mobile Women 62-61 Win

MARIETTA, Ga-- Courntey Bayliss' last-second 3-pointer gave the University of Mobile women's basketball team a 62-61 victory over Southern Poly Friday evening in SSAC action. Morgan Melancon led Mobile with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting overall and 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, Alice Honnery added 14 points and 14 rebounds and Briana Edwards finished with 10 points and 8 boards.

Lady Rams Fall By 3 At West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 70-73 at NCAA-II University of West Florida Tuesday evening. Mobile (1-2) will visit Southern Poly University Friday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 pm. Alice Honnery led Mobile with 16 points, 19 rebounds and 7 blocks, while Courtney Bayliss added 11 points and Morgan Melancon finished with 10 points and 4 assists.

UMobile Women's Basketball Falls On Road

HENDERSON, Tenn-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 52-68 at Freed-Hardeman Saturday afternoon. Mobile (1-1) will visit University of West Florida Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 5 pm. Lauren Bethly led Mobile with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor, while Alice Honnery added 11 points and 12 boards for Mobile. With six and seven points respectively, Allison Michael and Courtney Bayliss were the only other Lady Rams to score more than three points in the contest.

UMobile Women Open Season With Victory Over Stillman

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team opened the 2011-12 season with a 73-66 victory over NCAA-II Stillman College Saturday afternoon. Briana Edwards led Mobile with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Alice Honnery added 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Courntey Bayliss finished with 14 points for Mobile thanks to hitting four 3-pointers. Mobile out shot Stillman 41% to 35% and finished 14-of-27 at the free throw line, compared to a 3-for-7 effort at the charity stripe from the visitors.

Mobile Women Picked 4th In SSAC Preseason Poll

Norcross, Ga. – Technically it can be said that for the seventh consecutive year Lee University has been voted by the coaches to win the SSAC women's basketball championship.  Lee was voted to win the overall conference in a very close vote over Shorter University. The coaches in the East Division, however, have predicted Shorter to win the division.

Alice Honnery Named NAIA All-American

JACKSON, Tenn-- The Univeristy of Mobile's Alice Honnery was named Honorable Mention 2011 NAIA Women's Basketball All-American as announced by the All-America Committee Wednesday. The selections are composed of a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention squad. The junior from New South Wales, Australia has re-written the record books at Mobile with her post play. In just two seasons with the Lady Rams, she has racked up 252 blocks to place 1st on the career list at Mobile.

Lady Ram Trio Honored By SSAC Awards

MOBILE, Ala-- Three University of Mobile women's basketball players received postseason awards from the Southern States Athletic Conference. Leading the way was junior post player Alice Honnery, who racked up several awards after finishing 2nd in the NAIA with 117 blocks (4.179 per game). The New South Wales, Australia native was named the SSAC Defensive Player of the Year, while also being named All-Conference and she was Mobile's representative on the Musco Lighting Champion of Character Team.
