ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 55-51 to SSAC West No. 1 seed Belhaven in the Quarterfinals of the 2011 SSAC Tournament Thursday evening. The Lady Rams close the season with a 17-11 record. Senior Adrienne Mackay led Mobile with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting and 14 rebounds, while Alice Honnery finished with 7 points and 11 boards. Regina Jackson led Belhaven with 22 points, thanks to a 4-of-7 effort from 3-point range.

ROME, Ga-- The 5th-seeded University of Mobile women's basketball team ran past 4th-seed Southern Wesleyan University 64-55 in the opening round of the 2011 Fuddruckers Southern States Athletic Conference Basketball Championships presented by Floyd County Wednesday. Mobile (17-10) advances to face the West's top seed, Belhaven University, Thursday at 7 pm. The Lady Rams got a big-time performance from Alyssa Lane, who poured in a career-high 25 points and tallied 21 in the 1st half, while Mobile built a 36-29 lead.

The Lady Rams (16-10, 6-6) are the 5th seed from the West, while Southern Wesleyan (20-9, 11-5) is the 4th seed from the East.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team earned a spot in the 2011 SSAC Tournament with a 72-69 win over Loyola University to cap the regular season Saturday. Mobile (16-10, 6-6) will be the 5th seed out of the West in the tournament that takes place Mar. 3-5 in Rome, GA. The win avenged a 20-point loss at Loyola earlier in the season.

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 71-78 at Faulkner University in SSAC West action Thursday evening. Mobile (15-10, 5-6) hosts Loyola University Saturday at 4 pm. The Lady Rams are currently in a 4-way tie for 3rd and the top five teams from each division advance to the SSAC Tournament in Rome, GA Mar. 3-5.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile's Alice Honnery was named OnePath Systems SSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference Monday. Honnery, a 6-2 post player from New South Wales, Australia led Mobile to a 2-0 week, including an upset over 16th-ranked Xavier and a win over rival Spring Hill. She averaged 18 points, 14 rebounds, 6 blocks and 3.5 assists on the week. Against Xavier, she put up 15 points, 13 rebounds, 6 blocks and 6 assists.

MOBILE, Ala-- Entering play Saturday with only three regular season games left, the University of Mobile women's basketball team picked up a big SSAC West victory, beating Spring Hill 72-62. Mobile now sits at 15-9 overall and 5-5 in the division, which puts them in a tie for 3rd place. The top four teams from the East and the West advance to the SSAC Tournament. The Lady Rams will visit Faulkner Thursday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 pm.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team stepped out of of conference play Thursday evening to pick up a 63-59 victory over 16th-ranked Xavier University-Louisiana. Mobile improves to 14-9 overall and sits at 4-5 in the division. The Lady Rams, 11-2 at home, will visit rival Spring Hill College Saturday, Feb. 19 at 5 pm. Alice Honnery dominated inside for Mobile, finishing with 15 points, 13 rebounds, 6 blocks and 6 assists, while Allison Michael knocked down 4-of-6 from 3-pt range to finish with 14 points.

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team picked up a much-needed SSAC West victory Saturday afternoon, as the Lady Rams outlasted the Lady Senators of Auburn University-Montgomery 66-63. Mobile (13-9, 4-5) will next play Thursday when they host Xavier University at 5:30 pm in a non-conference tilt. Alice Honnery paced Mobile with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting and added 8 boards and 7 blocks.
