Mobile Moves To 2-0 On Season

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 62-43 win over Talladega College at Pharr Gym in the Port City Tip-Off Classic. Gerica Johnson finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds for Mobile, while Alice Honnery added 15 points and 14 boards. Adrienne Mackay finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the Lady Rams.

Lady Rams Win Season-Opener

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team used a balanced attack to defeat visiting Martin Methodist College 74-55 in the Lady Rams' season opener Friday at Pharr Gym in the Port City Tip-Off Classic. All nine of the Lady Rams that dressed out scored in the game, and four scored in double figures.

Rams Blank Badgers 4-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team thumped visiting Spring Hill College 4-0 to close out the 2009 regular season Thursday evening at "The Jungle."

The Rams (6-10, 2-2) will play at No. 2 seed Belhaven College in the GCAC Tournament Nov. 5, while the Badgers will battle LSU-Shreveport in a play-in game at a time and date to be determined.

Lady Rams Blank Spring Hill College

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated rival Spring Hill College 1-0 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening. Brianna Simmons scored the game-winner and lone goal of the game in the 22nd minute, when she ripped a 30-yard shot past Spring Hill's diving goal keeper.

UM Women Run At Mobile Rampage

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team had a trio of runners compete at the 2009 Mobile Rampage Saturday on the University of Mobile campus.

A team needs five runners to qualify as a team, so Mobile did not have a team score, but the individual runners that ran in the meet showed improvement.

UM Men Run At Mobile Rampage

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team finished 4th at the 2009 Mobile Rampage Saturday. The 5K run was held on the University of Mobile campus.

The Rams finished with 101 points after clocking in with a team time of 1:38:22. Spring Hill College won the meet with 19 points and a team time of 1:27:46.

Four UM Athletes Earn Player Of The Week Honors

HATTIESBURG,Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the GCAC Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18, and the University of Mobile had four athletes honored. Satsuma native Jacob Morgan was named the Men's Golf Player of the Week for his showing at the NAIA Preview Invitational.

Mobile Falls At Belhaven In OT

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team fell to Belhaven College, 2-1 in overtime, in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play Tuesday evening. Mobile (6-7-1, 1-1) will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 27 at home against Spring Hill College at 7 pm. The Lady Rams will then close out the regular season at home on Oct. 31 against William Carey at 7 pm.
