#11 Lady Rams Advance To Final 16 Of Nationals

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated 16th-ranked Embry-Riddle 3-2 in a 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round game Saturday at the University of Mobile. The Lady Rams (13-6-1) will advance to the final site of the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship in Decatur, Ala. and face 2nd-ranked Lee University. Embry-Riddle ends the season with a 14-3-3 record.

Rams Fall 60-67 At 12th-Ranked Flames

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 60-67 at 12th-ranked Lee University Friday evening. Mobile (4-2) visits Shorter University Saturday at 6 pm. Ji Kimbrough led the Rams with 22 points, while Brock Dockery added 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range. Matthew Turner added 9 points and 8 rebounds. Jerel Blocker poured in 25 points for Lee, while Larriques Cunningham with 10-of-11 from the charity stripe to finish with 16 points.

No. 7 Lee Tops Mobile In Women's Basketball Action

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The 7th-ranked Lee University Lady Flames defeated the University of Mobile Lady Rams 70-60 in NAIA women's basketball action Friday. Morgan Crawford led Mobile with 13 points, while Adrienne Mackay added 10. Alice Honnery chipped in with 6 points and 15 rebounds. Brooke McKinnon led Lee with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Alabama State Tops Lady Rams In Exhibition Action

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 55-37 at NCAA-I Alabama State University in exhibition action Tuesday evening. Mobile (3-1) will visit Lee University Friday, Nov. 19 at 6 pm in Cleveland, Tenn. The Lady Rams were down only 27-21 after one half of play, but then shot 16% (5-31) in the final half, while the Lady Hornets pulled away. Mobile shot only 26% from the floor, compared to 32% for the Lady Hornets.

Mobile Men Win 4th-Straight Game

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team won its 4th-straight game Monday, blowing out visiting Trinity Baptist College 76-36 in non-conference action. Mobile (4-1) travels to Lee University Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 pm. Donte Walker led the Rams with 16 points, Ji Kimbrough added 14 and Brock Dockery finished with 10 for the Rams. Zack Potter was the lone Eagle in double figures with 11 points, while the next highest total was only 6.

2010 SSAC Volleyball All-Conference Teams Released

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team had several student-athletes honored by the SSAC, as the conference released the 2010 SSAC Volleyball All-Conference Teams. Kelly Sherling was named to the All-Conference team after leading the Lady Rams with 361 kills, good for 3.5 kills per set. The senior hit .209 and added 167 digs and 40 blocks. Joining Sherling as a SSAC West All-Division selection were Alyson Kovacs, Shea McBee and Katy McCollister.

2010 SSAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Awards Released

MOBILE, Ala-- The Southern States Athletic Conference released the 2010 SSAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams, and the 7th-ranked University of Mobile was well-represented. Deshorn Brown was tabbed SSAC Freshman of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Player of the Year after tallying 18 goals and 5 assists in his first year of collegiate soccer. Five of those goals were game-winners.

2010 SSAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Teams Announced

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team had several players honored by the release of the 2010 SSAC All-Conference Team. Sophomore Christy Lachappelle was named the SSAC West Division Offensive Player of the Year, and was joined on the All-Conference Team by teammates Anna Maddox and Missy Stovall. Olivia Maddox was named to the SSAC West All-Division Team and Rebekah Counce was named to the SSAC All-Freshman Team.

Field Set For 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the pairings for the 31 qualifiers for the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Sunday. Thirty teams will compete in fifteen National Championship Opening Round matches Nov. 20, while the University of Mobile (15-3-2) gets an automatic bid to the Round of 16 at the final site Nov. 29 - Dec. 4 in Orange Beach, Ala. This marks the Rams' 4th straight trip to nationals and 14th overall. Mobile is 20-13 overall at nationals and won it all in 2002.

UMobile To Host National Championship Opening Round Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team is headed to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Tournament for the first time since 2000, and will host a 2010 Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round contest Saturday, Nov. 20. The Lady Rams, who qualified for the tournament by advancing to the SSAC Tournament Finals, will host Sun Conference member Embry-Riddle at a time to be determined. The winner of that contest will host the winner of Lee University and Tennessee Wesleyan at the final site in Decatur, Ala., Nov. 29.
