No. 12 Pilots Take Twin Bill From Rams

SHREVEPORT, La-- The 12th-ranked LSU-Shreveport Pilots took a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference twin bill from the University of Mobile baseball team by scores of 5-4 and 18-1 Friday. Mobile (20-31, 13-20) and LSUS (41-10, 24-7) finish the series with an 11 am contest Saturday. Next up will be the GCAC Tournament at Smith-Wills Stadium in Ridgeland, Miss. May 5-10.

Men's Tennis Falls In GCAC Semifinals

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's tennis team fell in the semifinals at the 2010 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Friday at the University of New Orleans Tennis Center. The Rams started the day by defeating Tougaloo College 5-0, and then fell to William Carey 5-1 in the semifinals. Mobile ends the season with a 10-5 record and will await word from the NAIA to see if it gets the host bid to the 2010 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship May 18-22 at the Copeland-Cox Center.

Women's Tennis Falls In Semi's At GCAC Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team fell in the semifinals of the 2010 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Friday. The Lady Rams (17-5) started the day with a 5-0 victory over Belhaven University, before falling to No. 20 William Carey University 6-2 in the semifinals. Mobile will await word on whether or not it will receive the host bid to the 2010 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, which is held May 18-22 at the Copeland-Cox Center in Mobile.

2010 Season Comes To An End For UM Softball

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The 2010 season came to an end for the 20th-ranked University of Mobile softball team Friday at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Mobile split a pair of elimination contests on the day, knocking of Spring Hill 6-1, before falling to 16th-ranked William Carey University 5-2. Mobile ends the season with a 34-19 overall record and 11-5 GCAC mark. Against Spring Hill, The Lady Ram bats pounded out 10 hits and put up five runs in the 3rd inning, while Leslie Pickette went the distance for the win, limiting the Lady Badgers to 1 run on 5 hits, while walking none.

UM Softball Splits On Day One Of GCAC Tournament

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The 20th-ranked University of Mobile softball team split a pair of games on day one of the 2010 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex Thursday. Mobile dropped the opener 3-1 to No. 16 William Carey, and then rebounded to run-rule Dillard 8-0 in 6 innings to cap the day. The Lady Rams (33-18, 11-5) battle Spring Hill College Friday at 10 am in an elimination game.

Lady Rams Finish Regular Season With Win

New Orleans, La-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's tennis team defeated LSU-Shreveport 6-0 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Thursday to close out the regular season. Mobile moves to 16-4 overall and 10-4 in GCAC action. Mobile will face Belhaven University Friday, April 30 at 9 am in the first round of the 2010 GCAC Tournament at the University of New Orleans Tennis Center.

Mobile Hosts 2010 GCAC Tournament In Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The University of Mobile will host the 2010 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Softball Tournament at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex April 29-30. Belhaven (48-6, 13-3), Mobile (32-17, 11-5), William Carey (35-12, 11-5), Spring Hill (20-27, 5-11) and Dillard (2-23, 0-16) will compete for the conference title. The winner of the tournament will then face the champion from the Sunrise Conference for a bid to the NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Ala.

UM Finishes 5th At NAIA Qualifier; Rice Qualifies For Nationals

COLUMBUS, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team ended the 2009-10 season with a 5th-place finish at the NAIA Unaffiliated Qualifier at Bull Creek Golf Club Tuesday. Senior Maegan Rice carded a 7-over 151 (78, 73) to win the event and qualify for the 2010 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships for the 4th-straight year.

Lambuth Sweeps Twin Bill From Rams

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team finished out its 2010 home schedule by dropping a doubleheader to Lambuth University Sunday. Lambuth won the opener 12-0 in five innings and took the finale 6-5 in nine innings. Mobile (20-29, 13-18) will close out the regular season at LSU-Shreveport with a three-game conference series beginning Friday at 6:30 pm.
