MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team rode a hot start to a 75-50 win over SSAC West foe Faulkner University Saturday afternoon at Pharr Gym. Mobile (11-9, 4-1) will visit Loyola University Thursday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 pm. Ji Kimbrough led the Rams with 16 points thanks to an 8-of-11 effort from the free throw line, Kevin Calloway and Donte Walker each chipped in 15 points and Bentley Hylton finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

MOBILE, Ala-- The Faulkner University Lady Eagles used a 20-7 free throw advantage in the final half to hand the University of Mobile its first home loss of the season, 86-81 in SSAC West play Saturday afternoon. Mobile (12-6, 3-2) will visit Loyola University Thursday, Feb. 3 at 5:30 pm, while Faulkner improves to 16-5 overall and 3-2 in the division. Belhaven is in the top spot with a 5-1 conference mark.

The Lady Rams (12-5, 3-1) will host Faulkner University Saturday at 2 pm, while Spring Hill falls to 8-13 overall and 1-3 in conference. Alice Honnery led Mobile with a career-high 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Adrienne Mackay added 15 points and 9 boards and Alyssa Lane chipped in 12 points and 4 assists off the bench. Morgan Melancon dished out 7 assists and finished with 6 steals.

Bentley Hylton led a trio of double-digit Ram scorers with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor, along with 7 rebounds. Donte Walker added 14 points thanks to an 8-of-11 effort from the charity stripe and Brock Dockery added 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- No. 11 Xavier University slipped past the University of Mobile 69-63 in NAIA men's basketball action Monday evening. Mobile (9-9, 2-1) will host Spring Hill College Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 pm in a conference tilt. Donte Walker poured in 22 points thanks to a 15-of-16 effort from the charity stripe, while Matthew Turner added 13 points and 8 boards for the Rams. Jeremy Lee led Xavier with 15 points, while Anthony Simmons added 13.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 47-48 to 16th-ranked Xavier University-Louisiana in road action Monday evening. Mobile (11-4, 2-1) will return to SSAC West action Thursday, Jan. 27 at 5:30 pm when they host rival Spring Hill College. Xavier improves to 18-4 on the season. Alice Honnery posted 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks in the post for the Lady Rams, but the team only shot 1-of-10 from 3-point range, as the next highest scorers were Alyssa Lane and Adrienne Mackay with 6 points apiece.

Mobile (9-8) will visit Xavier University-Louisiana Monday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 pm in non-conference action before returning home to host rival Spring Hill College Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 pm. Bentley Hylton led four Rams in double figures with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Brock Dockery added 11 points. Donte Walker and Matthew Turner each chipped in 10 points to the Rams' cause.

Mobile (9-7, 2-1) will host Life University Saturday at 7 pm. AUM falls to 5-11 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Donte Walker led the Rams with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, Matthew Turner added 15 points and 8 boards, and Spencer Duke, Brock Dockery and Ji Kimbrough each chipped in 10 points to the Mobile cause.

Mobile (11-4, 2-1) will visit Xavier University-Louisiana Monday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 pm, while Auburn-Montgomery falls to 9-10 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Point guard Morgan Melancon led the way for the Lady Rams with a career-high 25 points thanks to 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point range, while Alyssa Lane tallied 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from downtown. In the post, Adrienne Mackay added 9 points and 10 boards, while Alice Honnery finished with 6 blocks.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team saw a late rally fall short Monday, as the team fell to Southern University at New Orleans 50-54 in non-conference action at Pharr Gym. Mobile (8-7, 1-1) will host Auburn-Montgomery Thursday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 pm in SSAC action. This was only Mobile's second home loss this season. Donte Walker and Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 19 points apiece, while nobody else on the team even cracked 5 points.
