UMobile Volleyball Wins In Five At Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile volleyball team rallied to defeat Southern States Athletic Conference opponent Belhaven University 3-2 (18-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 20-18) Tuesday evening. Mobile (19-11, 6-5) hosts Xavier University and Southern University at New Orleans Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 am and 3 pm.

#4 UMobile Men Battle #7 Crusaders To 1-1 Tie

HATTIESBURG, Miss--The 4th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team battled 7th-ranked William Carey to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in SSAC action Tuesday. Mobile (12-1-1, 8-1-1) hosts University of West Florida Friday at 7 pm. Xavier Audergon worked all 110 minutes in goal for the Rams and made eight stops, including a penalty kick in the second half and a shot from point-blank range in the first overtime period.

Mobile Runners Run In Choctaw Open

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's and women's cross country teams ran at the 2011 Choctaw Open Saturday morning at Choctaw Trails. The men finished 12th as a team in the 8K run, while the women did not have enough runners to qualify as a team in their 5K run. The men finished with a total time of 2:59:14.92 and 351 points, while Mississippi State won the meet with a time of 2:13:24.59 and 33 points.

Women's Soccer Holds Off Faulkner 2-1

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 8th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team held on to down Faulkner University 2-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday. Mobile (12-2-1, 8-1) will visit William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 5 pm. Faulkner out shot Mobile 19-14, but Lorna Brownlie made seven saves in goal for the Lady Rams to pick up the victory.

Volleyball Goes 2-0 On Final Day Of Tournament

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The UMobile volleyball team went 2-0 on the final day of the SCAD Invitational Saturday, defeating Shawnee State 3-0 (25-9, 25-15, 25-17) and taking down host SCAD-Savannah 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22). Mobile (18-11) will visit Belhaven University Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 pm. The Lady Rams out hit Shawnee State .366 to .011, served up six aces and finished with a 6-0 edge in team blocks.

UMobile Men Beat Faulkner 2-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 4th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team blanked conference foe Faulkner University 2-0 Saturday evening. Mobile (12-1, 8-1) will visit William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 pm. Sam Blackburn scored off of a feed from Eoin Dolan for the Rams and Deshorn Brown put in his 23rd goal of the season, with the assist going to Blackburn.

UMobile Volleyball Goes 1-1 At SCAD Invitational

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball team went 1-1 on day one of the SCAD Invitational Friday, falling to 11th-ranked Taylor University 2-3 (25-17, 21-25, 27-25, 17-25, 11-15) and defeating Ave Maria 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 25-25, 23-25, 15-5). Mobile (16-11) will face Shawnee State Saturday at 11 am and SCAD at 1 pm to cap the tournament.

Lady Rams Take Down Conference Foe Belhaven 4-1

MOBILE, Ala-- The 8th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team bounced visiting Belhaven University 4-1 in a Southern States Athletic Conference contest Tuesday evening. Mobile (11-2-1, 7-1) visits Faulkner Saturday Oct. 15 at 5 pm. The Lady Rams out shot the Blazers 25-6 and held a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks, but it was not until the second half when Mobile pulled away from a 1-1 tie.

4th-Ranked Rams Beat 10th-Ranked Blazers 3-1

MOBILE, Ala-- The 4th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team used three second-half goals to defeat 10th-ranked Belhaven University 3-1 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening. Mobile (11-1, 7-1) visits Faulkner University Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 pm. The Rams put 11 shots on frame, versus six for the Blazers, and held a 19-10 advantage in overall shots taken.
