GULFPORT, Miss-- The 3rd-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team fell 0-2 to 2nd-ranked Lee University in the finals of the 2011 SSAC Tournament Saturday at the Gulfport Sportsplex. Mobile (17-3-1, 11-1) will receive a bid to the 2011 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship, and will await word on a site and opponent for the National Championship Opening Round to take place Nov. 19.

HENDERSON, Tenn-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 52-68 at Freed-Hardeman Saturday afternoon. Mobile (1-1) will visit University of West Florida Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 5 pm. Lauren Bethly led Mobile with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor, while Alice Honnery added 11 points and 12 boards for Mobile. With six and seven points respectively, Allison Michael and Courtney Bayliss were the only other Lady Rams to score more than three points in the contest.

BILOXI, Miss-- The University of Mobile volleyball team saw its season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the SSAC Tournament Friday in the form of a 1-3 (25-22, 15-25, 22-25, 17-25) loss to Shorter University. Mobile finishes the season with a 24-14 overall record and a 7-7 mark in SSAC play. Disah Kolassiba led the Lady Rams with 14 kills, while Alison Kenney added 10 kills and 11 digs. Kiara Gay finished with 9 kills, 3 blocks and 13 digs for the Lady Rams. Katy McCollister led the way defensively with 19 digs, while Melody Tenney led with 33 assists.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 5th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team racked up postseason honors with the release of the 2011 SSAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team and year-end awards. The nation's leading goal scorer Deshorn Brown was named the SSAC Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season, while Michael Azira was named SSAC Newcomer of the Year, and Roy Patton was tabbed SSAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year.

MOBILE, Ala-- The Southern States Athletic Conference released the 2011 Women's Soccer All-Conference Team and year-end awards, and the 3rd-ranked University of Mobile Lady Rams were well-represented. The All-Conference team is made up of 14 players, with Lorna Brownlie, Christy Lachappelle and Olivia Maddox earning the nod for Mobile. Rebekah Counce and Jesslyn Fagundes earned spots on the All-Conference 2nd-Team, while Rebekah Spalding and Brianna Heiss were named All-Freshman.

GULFPORT, Miss-- The 19th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery Warhawks ousted the 5th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team 3-2 in a double-overtime semifinal contest at the SSAC Tournament Thursday at the Gulfport Sportsplex. Mobile (16-2-1, 10-1-1) will get a host bid to the Round of 16 at the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championships Nov. 28 - Dec. 3 in Orange Beach, Ala. Mobile held a slim lead of 14-12 in shots taken and AUM held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. It was a physical contest with seven yellow cards handed out.

GULFPORT, Miss-- The 3rd-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team got a hat trick from Kassie Ruff Thursday evening to defeat Brenau University 3-0 in the semifinals of the SSAC Tournament. Mobile (17-2-1) will face 2nd-ranked Lee University in the championship match Saturday at 2 pm at the Gulfport Sportsplex. The Lady Rams' defense allowed Brenau only three shots all game, and Lorna Brownlie made a pair of saves in the shutout victory.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team opened the 2011-12 season by slipping by visiting Texas College 81-80 in a physical overtime contest. Mobile (1-0) will visit Southern University at New Orleans Saturday, Nov. 12 at a time to be determined. The Rams won despite going only 13-for-22 from the charity stripe, compared to 36-for-46 for the visiting Steers. Texas College shot 40% from the floor, while Mobile shot 42%, and the Rams forced 26 turnovers.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-9) victory over visiting Tougaloo College to give Head Coach Jon Campbell his 300th career victory Monday. Campbell boasts a 300-157 career mark and a 173-74 record in seven seasons with the Lady Rams. He started the UMobile volleyball program in 2005, and just one year later led the team to a 31-7 record. Then, over the next three seasons, Mobile compiled 96 wins, three conference championships and three trips to the NAIA National Championships.
