Rams Drop Pair Of Non-Conference Games At Loyola

Westwego, La.-  The University of Mobile baseball team (3-3) dropped a pair of non-conference games at Loyola University Tuesday, dropping the opener 7-5 and falling 5-2 in the finale. Mobile will host Talladega College for a 3-game set this weekend, with a single game Friday at 2 pm and a double header Saturday at 12. In the first game, the Wolfpack capitalized on five Mobile errors on the way to a 7-5 victory.

Rams Split Sunday Twin Bill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a Sunday twinbill with visiting St. Catharine College, dropping game one 5-4 in 8 innings and taking the finale 5-3 in 7 innings. Mobile (3-1) will visit Loyola Tuesday, Feb. 8 for a 3 pm double header. In the finale, Blake Hanson picked up the win by limiting the Patriots to 1 earned run on 7 hits in 4.2 innings of work. Josh Blaylock worked a shutout 7th for his 1st save of the season.

Crusaders' Meyerchick Sinks Rams Late

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- William Carey held off the University of Mobile 67-63 in SSAC West men's basketball action Saturday. Mobile (12-10, 5-2) remains in the top spot in the SSAC West by one game and will return to action at home Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 pm against Belhaven University. Donte Walker led the Rams with 13 points and 9 rebounds thanks to a 7-of-8 effort from the free throw line, while Brock Dockery, Matthew Turner and Ji Kimbrough each tallied 12 points for Mobile.

Mobile Women Fall At William Carey

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- William Carey University handed the University of Mobile women's basketball team its 3rd-straight loss, 62-54, Saturday evening. Mobile (12-8, 3-4) hosts Belhaven University Thursday, Feb. 10 at 5:30 pm. Alice Honnery led Mobile with 15 points, while Alyssa Lane added 13 points and Adrienne Mackay finished with 9 points and 13 rebounds.

UMobile Baseball Opens 2011 With Two Wins

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team opened the 2011 season by sweeping a doubleheader from visiting St. Catharine College by scores of 4-2 and 7-1 in a pair of 7-inning games. Mobile (2-0) and St. Catharine (0-2) will finish the 4-game series with a twin bill Sunday at 12 pm.

Rams Ride Defense To 55-51 SSAC West Win

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team improved to 5-1 in the SSAC West with a 55-51 road victory over Loyola University Thursday. Mobile (12-9, 5-1) will visit William Carey Saturday at 7 pm. Donte Walker led Mobile with 16 points, Spencer Duke added 13 points, Ji Kimbrough finished with 12 and Matthew Turner added 10 points and 6 rebounds inside.

Turnovers Send Mobile To 65-85 Loss At Loyola

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile women's basketball fell 65-85 at Loyola University in SSAC West action Thursday evening. Mobile (12-7, 3-3) will visit William Carey University Saturday at 5 pm. Morgan Melancon led Mobile with 18 points thanks to 5-of-6 shooting from 3-point range, Adrienne Mackay added 12 points and 11 boards, and Anna Maddox finished with 10 points for the Lady Rams.
