UMobile Women's Golf Ties For 3rd At Tournament

LAKE WALES, Fla-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in a tie for 3rd at the 8th Annual Start 2 Finish Monday. The tournament took place at the Par-72, 5,825-yard Lake Wales CC.  The Lady Rams carded a 124-over 700 (344, 356) to finish in a tie with SCAD-Atlanta (339, 361). Coastal Georgia finished 1st with a 64-over 640 (332, 308) and Centre College placed 2nd at 76-over 652 (327, 325).

Lady Rams Sit In 4th After Day One

LAKE WALES, Fla-- The University of Mobile women's golf team sits in 4th place after 18 holes of competition at the 8th Annual Start 2 Finish Classic. The tournament is being held at the Par-72, 5825-yard Lake Wales CC. The Lady Rams carded a 56-over 344 to sit 17 strokes behind leading Centre College, which fired a collective 39-over 327 through the opening 18 holes. Warner University is in 5th place, 18 strokes behind Mobile.

Men's Golf Sits in 8th After 36 Holes

LAKE WALES, Fla-- The University of Mobile men's golf team sits in 8th place after day one at the 8th Annual Start 2 Finish Classic at Lake Wales CC. The Rams sit at +65 633 (315, 318) after 36 holes played on the opening day of the tournament. Rollins College sits in 1st after shooting a 7-over 575 (281, 294). Zach Day shot an 11-over 153 (76, 77) to sit in a tie for 20th.

Rams Grab 10-2 Win From Badgers

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team bounced back Sunday and trounced Spring Hill College 10-2 in the series finale. Mobile (3-6) will host University of New Orleans TUesday at 2 pm. Ryan Hines limited the Badger bats to 1 run on 6 hits in 7 innings of work, while fanning 5 and walking 1. The lefty needed only 85 pitches to work through the 7 innings.

Hot Shooting Sends Rams Past Badgers 83-75

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team shot 55% from the floor to take down the rival Badgers of Spring Hill 83-75 Saturday at Pharr Gym. Mobile (13-14, 9-7) hosts Faulkner Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 pm. Ji Kimbrough led the Rams and all scorers with 29 points after going 14-of-15 from the charity stripe, while Brock Dockery finished with 15 and Christian Salinas tallied 10 off the bench.

Lady Rams Fall 85-80 To Rival Badgers

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 80-85 to rival Spring Hill College Saturday evening at Pharr Gym.Mobile (7-19, 4-12) will host Faulkner Thursday, Feb. 23 at 5:30 pm. Alice Honnery led the Lady Rams with 22 points, Daphnee Frieson added 16 points and 11 boards, and Lauren Bethly scored 11 for Mobile. April Bradford and Kristin Rogers each finished with 19 points for Spring Hill.

Badgers Take Twin Bill From Rams

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team dropped a doubleheader at Spring Hill Friday, falling 2-5 in a 7-inning game and 3-11 in a 9-inning contest. Mobile (2-6, 0-2) and Spring Hill (5-2, 2-0) will finish the series with a 12 pm contest Saturday. Michael Moch picked up the win in the opener for Spring Hill, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits in 6.1 innings of work. Michael King took the loss after allowing 2 earned runs (5 runs) on 8 hits in 6 innings of work.

No. 18 Bulldogs Take Down Rams 76-55

MOBILE, Ala-- The 18th-ranked Tougaloo College Bulldogs defeated the University of Mobile 76-55 in NAIA men's basketball action Thursday evening at Pharr Gym. The Rams (12-14, 8-7) hos rival Spring Hill (12-10, 6-8) Saturday at 7 pm. Antonio Hester led Mobile with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocks, Ji Kimbrough added 12 points and Cody Scott tallied 11 points and 9 boards off the bench for the Rams.

Rams Fall 3-9 At No. 2 Argos

PENSACOLA, Fla-- The University of Mobile baseball team fell 9-3 to NCAA-II 2nd-ranked University of West Florida Wednesday evening. Dan Husum picked up the win for West Florida with 1 inning of 1-run relief. Ryan Hines took the loss after allowing 5 runs on 5 hits in 1 inning of work. The UMobile offense managed only five hits in the game, and freshman first baseman Braxton Hamil had three of those after going 3-for-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run at the dish. Ryne Phillips finished 1-for-2 at the plate with two walks.

Lady Rams Open Season With DH Sweep

TALLADEGA, Ala-- The 22nd-ranked University of Mobile softball team opened the 2012 season by sweeping a doubleheader from Talladega College with 9-0 and 10-0 run-rule victories in 5 innings. Mobile (2-0) will host Talladega Feb. 23 at 2 pm for a twin bill. Kamaron Strickland went the distance in the opener and twirled a perfect game will fanning four hitters. Korie Fontenot finished with a homerun as the Lady Rams tallied 9 runs.
