No. 15 Belhaven Uses 2nd-Half To Take Down Mobile Women

JACKSON, Miss-- The second half doomed the University of Mobile women's basketball team to a 63-79 loss at 15th-ranked Belhaven University in SSAC action Thursday evening. Mobile (6-17, 4-10) hosts Auburn University-Montgomery Saturday at 2 pm. Alice Honnery was the lone Lady Ram to score in double figures with 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks, while Daphnee Frieson added 9 points and 11 boards.

UMobile Rams Split Season-Opening DH

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile opened the 2012 season by splitting a non-conference doubleheader with visiting Loyola University Tuesday, taking the opener 2-1 in 9 innings before falling 4-3 in the 7-inning finale. Mobile (1-1) will host Talladega for a three-game series, beginning Friday at 2 pm. The opener saw the Rams use five pitchers to pick up the win, with Shane Ikner working 1 inning of scoreless relief to pick up the victory. The staff fanned 12 Wolfpack hitters.

UMobile Men's Basketball Picks Up Conference Win

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated William Carey University 59-54 in SSAC action at Pharr Gym Saturday afternoon. Mobile (11-12, 7-6) visits Belhaven University Thursday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 pm. Antonio Hester led Mobile with 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Christian Salinas and Matthew Turner each added 11 points off the bench. Jamal Doss led William Carey with 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting and added six blocks.

William Carey Tops Mobile Women 64-55

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 55-64 at home to SSAC foe William Carey Saturday afternoon. Mobile (6-16, 4-9) will visit Belhaven Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 pm. Briana Edwards led Mobile with 13 points off the bench, while Alice Honnery added 10 points and 13 rebounds, and Daphnee Frieson finished with 8 points and 11 boards. TeAnna Carter led the Lady Saders with 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting, while Crystal Tucker added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Three-Point Barrage Helps Rams Defeat Loyola

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team took down visiting Loyola University 86-75 in SSAC action Thursday evening. Mobile (10-12, 6-6) remains within one game of 1st-place Belhaven in the SSAC West, and will host William Carey University Saturday at 4 pm. Antonio Hester and Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 16 points apiece, while Hester added 12 boards for a double-double and Kimbrough dished out six assists. Christian Salinas added 13 points, Cody Scott finished with 12 and Spencer Duke tallied 11 for the Rams.

No. 21 Wolfpack Take Down Lady Rams 82-57

MOBILE, Ala-- The 21st-ranked Loyola University Wolfpack upended the University of Mobile Lady Rams 82-57 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Thursday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (6-15, 4-8) hosts William Carey University Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2 pm. Alice Honnery paced Mobile with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists, Briana Edwards added 11 points, and Daphnee Frieson and Lauren Bethly each chipped in 10 points for Mobile.
