Lady Rams Sweep Gold Nuggets; Visit Badgers Thursday

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team swept visiting Xavier University 25-21, 28-26, 25-16 in non-conference action Tuesday evening at Pharr Gymnasium. Mobile (23-10, 7-6) visits rival Spring Hill Thursday at 7 pm. The two teams went to five sets earlier this season. The Lady Rams out hit Xavier .282 to .090 and finished with a 6-1 edge in service aces and a 9.5-4 edge in team blocks.

UMobile Men's Golf Places 2nd At Tournament

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished 2nd at the University of Mobile Fall Invitational Tuesday. The tournament was held at Heron Lakes' Par-72, 6,807-yard course. The Rams fired a two-round 47-over 623 (309, 314), while Spring Hill won the tournament at 39-over 615 (308, 307). Belhaven finished 3rd with a 53-over 629 (319, 310).

Schedule Announced For Saturday's Soccer & Basketball Games

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile has announced game times for Saturday's men's and women's soccer SSAC Tournament games, and altered the times of Saturday's season-opening basketball games. Women's soccer will host Truett-McConnell at 1 pm, followed by the men hosting Lee University at 3 pm. Women's basketball will host Fisk University at 5 pm, followed by men's basketball battling Fisk at 7 pm.

No. 9 Rams Wrap Up SSAC Regular Season Championship

MOBILE, Ala-- The 9th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team won the 2012 Southern States Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship by beating rival Spring Hill 3-1 Saturday. Mobile (13-3-1, 9-2) won the regular season title last year and the tournament championship in 2010. The Rams will host an opening round game of the SSAC Tournament Saturday, Nov. 3, with time and opponent TBA.

Lachappelle Scores Four As Mobile Blasts SHC 4-0

MOBILE, Ala-- It was the Christy Lachappelle show Saturday afternoon as the 4th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team blasted rival Spring Hill College 4-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference action. Mobile (14-3-1, 10-1) will host a SSAC Tournament first round game Saturday, Nov. 3 with time and opponent to be announced.The Lady Rams are the 2nd seed, behind top-ranked Lee University.

9th-Ranked Men Blank Crusaders 2-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The 9th-ranked University men's soccer team shut out visiting William Carey University 2-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening. Mobile (12-3-1, 8-2) visits Spring Hill Saturday at 3:30 pm to close out the regular season. The Rams currently sit atop the SSAC standings with 24 points, while Belhaven, Southern Wesleyan and Auburn-Montgomery all have 22.

No. 4 Lady Rams Best No. 5 William Carey In 2OT

MOBILE, Ala-- Jesslyn Fagundes' goal in the 106th minute gave the 4th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team a 2-1 double-overtime victory over 5th-ranked William Carey University Wednesday in SSAC action. The game was scoreless for 70 minutes until Rebekah Spalding just got a piece of Christy Lachappelle's free kick to redirect the ball inside the far post at the 70:33 mark.

Volleyball Falls 0-3 At Loyola University

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile volleyball team fell 0-3 (14-25, 22-25, 12-25) at Southern States Athletic Conference rival Loyola University Tuesday. Mobile (22-10, 7-6) hosts Xavier University for a non-conference match Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 pm. Kiara Gay led Mobile with 10 kills and 6 digs, while Reagin Boggs had 21 assists.

Lady Ram Golfers Finish 2nd At UM Fall Classic

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team closed out the 2012 fall schedule with a second place finish at the UM Fall Classic. The event was held at Heron Lakes' Par-72, 5,913-yard course Monday-Tuesday. The Lady Rams fired a score of 85-over 661 (339, 322) to finish eight strokes behind Spring Hill after the Badgers shot a 77-over 653 (335, 318).

Gaetan Massiah Earns National Player Of The Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile's Gaetan Massiah has been named NAIA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 15-21, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Massiah and the 18th-ranked Rams played only one game on the week, but that was all he needed to make a big impression. The freshman midfielder scored a hat trick to lead the Rams to a 3-1 win over 6th-ranked Belhaven University on Oct. 20.
