Former Ram Making His Mark With The Florida Marlins

MIAMI, Fla-- In case you missed it, former University of Mobile baseball player Joe Espada is in his second season as a coach with the Florida Marlins. Espada served as third-base and infield coach last season, and is the team's third-base/outfield coach this year. The former second-round draft pick in the MLB Amateur Draft is Mobile's career batting average leader and holds the top two single-season batting averages in school history.

2011 Volleyball All Skills Camp

Rams' Jeremy Williams Selected By Rangers In 2011 MLB Draft

MOBILE, Ala-- The Texas Rangers made University of Mobile product and Bellwood, Ala. native Jeremy Williams the 1,104th pick of the 2011 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft Wednesday. The Rangers nabbed the 6-2, 220-pound outfielder with the 23rd pick in the 36th round. When Williams signs on the dotted line, he will be the 29th University of Mobile baseball player to ink a pro contract. He is the first draftee since Kyle McPherson was selected in the 14th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2007.

Rams Tab Legendary Coach Dr. Roy Patton To Lead Men's Soccer Program

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile has named legendary soccer coach Dr. Roy Patton to lead the school’s elite NAIA men’s soccer program. For Patton, the announcement marks a return to the city that honored him in 1996 by naming May 30 “Roy Patton Day” in recognition of his contributions to area youth soccer.  “Roy Patton’s name in the soccer community is huge, and he came highly recommended from my good friend and former University of South Alabama Athletic Director Joe Gottfried” said UMobile Athletic Director Joe Niland
