Lady Rams Battle, But Fall 0-3 To SHC

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team battled 19th-ranked Spring Hill College, but fell 0-3 (22-25, 23-25, 20-25) in a Southern States Athletic Conference battle.
Mobile (23-13, 7-7) will host Tougaloo Monday, Nov. 7 in a non-conference game, while Spring Hill improves to 36-0 on the season.
Spring Hill out-hit Mobile .300 to .181 and the Lady Rams finished with 11 service errors and 22 attack errors, compared to 7 attack errors and 9 service errors for the Badgers.
Alison Kenney hit .258 for Mobile and led with 14 kills and added 11 digs, while Kiara Gay finished with a double-double of 10 kills and 13 digs.
Reagin Boggs led the team with 21 assists.
Yting Cao finished with 19 kills to lead the Badgers, while Taryn Nash had 37 assists.
Spring Hill surged ahead to a 6-2 lead in the opening set, and Mobile never tied or led in the set, though they did pull to within 23-22, before the Badgers finished it off.
In the second set, Mobile got their first lead of the match, using a 4-0 run to take a 10-7 lead, with three different players picking up a kill in the run. Mobile then built that lead up to an 18-13 edge and eventually clung to a 23-20 lead. From there, the Badgers rolled off five-straight points to take the set thanks to four attack errors by Mobile.
The final set again saw Mobile build a 17-13, but the Badgers answered with a 9-0 run thanks to six Mobile errors.
