Lady Rams Earn NAIA Women's Soccer All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2011 Women's Soccer All-America teams Monday, and the University of Mobile had four student-athletes honored.

Lorna Brownlie was tabbed a Third Team All-American, while Christy Lachappelle, Bekah Counce and Olivia Maddox earned Honorable Mention honors.

The All-America committee selected a First Team, Second Team, Third Team and Honorable Mention.

Brownlie, a senior goalkeeper, started all 24 games in goal for the Lady Rams and posted 9 shutouts, 103 saves and a 20-3-1 record. She allowed only 24 goals in 24 goals.

Lachappelle, a 2010 All-American as well, led the Lady Rams in goals (19), assists (14) and points (52). She also tallied 7 game-winning goals for Mobile.

Maddox, a junior midfielder, played in all 24 games for the Lady Rams, while Counce helped anchor the defense that pitched 11 shutouts on the year.
