UMobile Men Run Past Life 104-84

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team scored 67 second-half points to race past the Running Eagles of Life University 104-84 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
Mobile (5-6) hosts Southern University at New Orleans Friday, Dec. 30 at 7:30 pm.
All five of the UMobile starters scored in double figures in the game. Christian Salinas led the way with 22 on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range, Antonio Hester added 21 points on 10-of-13 shooting, Brock Dockery finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Marcus Polnett added 11 points and 7 assists and Ji Kimbrough finished with 11 points and 6 assists.
PJ Meyers led Life with 31 points thanks to 12-of-12 shooting from the charity stripe and Mike Robertson added 21 points and 16 rebounds for the visitors.
Mobile out shot Life 47% to 39% for the game and held a 58% to 37% edge in the second half to outscore the Running Eagles 67-50. Mobile finished 8-of-20 from 3-point range, compared to 4-of-15 for Life.
The visitors scored first and held a 13-11 lead with 15:40 left in the opening half, before Mobile answered with a 13-2 run over the next 4:14, capped by a Tyler Cole 3-ball. From there, Mobile took a 37-34 lead into the break.
The Running Eagles kept it close early in the final period, down only 51-48 with 12:07 left to play, but Mobile took control from there. A 23-8 run over the next 4:52 pushed Mobile to an 18-point advantage as seven different players contributed points in the run. Mobile pushed the lead to as much as 22 from there.
