UMobile Men Rally Late To Beat Emmanuel 60-58

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated Emmanuel College 60-58 Saturday evening in SSAC action.
Mobile (7-7, 3-3) visits Life University Monday, Jan. 9 at 6 pm.
The Rams got 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting from Antonio Hester and 18 points from Ji Kimbrough to account for all but 17 points of the offensive output.
Luke Miller was the only Lion to score in double figures, finishing with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
Mobile finished with a 51% to 49% shooting edge from the floor, and shot 62% in the final half.
The Rams led 24-22 with 3:40 left in the opening half, but Emmanuel scored the next 10 points and then took a 32-26 lead into the break.
The Lions then kept that lead until Matthew Turner scored with 3:07 left in the game to give Mobile a 56-55 advantage. Emmanuel answered to retake the lead, but Turner knocked down a pair of free throws to hand it right back to Mobile. After Isaiah Tyus tied it at 58-58 with a free throw for Emmanuel with 1 minute remaining, Hester came up with the winning points with 24 seconds remaining.
