Rams Fall To Tougaloo After Slow Start

TOUGALOO, Miss.-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team got off to a slow start Monday and fell 52-58 at Tougaloo College in non-conference NAIA action.

Antonio Hester was the lone Ram to score in double figures, finishing with a game-high 22 points and 13 rebounds. Next highest was Cody Scott at 9 points and 8 boards. Outside of Hester's 11-of-18 shooting effort, the rest of the team hit only 8-of-29 from the floor.

Kadon Day led four Bulldogs in double figures with 17 points.

For the game, Mobile out shot Tougaloo 40% to 37% from the floor, but in the opening half, Tougaloo out shot the Rams 40% to 35% and hit 7-of-15 from 3-point range to build a 36-22 lead that Mobile could not overcome.

Mobile (8-10, 4-4) visits Auburn University-Montgomery Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7:30 pm. The Rams are in a three-way tie with Spring Hill and William Carey at the top of the SSAC West standings.
