Lady Rams Fall To Warhawks 60-73 In Conference Play

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 60-73 to visiting Auburn University at Montgomery in SSAC action Saturday afternoon.
Mobile (6-18, 4-11) will visit University of New Orleans Monday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 pm.
Alice Honnery was the lone Lady Ram to score in double figures, finishing with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks and 5 assists, while Daphnee Frieson and Briana Edwards each added 9 points.
Areial Woods led five Warhawks in double figures with 17 points, while LaKenya Drayton added 11 points and 12 boards.
AUM dominated the boards with a 45-28 rebounding edge and 18-10 offensive rebounding edge, while out shooting Mobile 46% to 43% from the field.
The first half set a bad tone for Mobile, as AUM forced 14 turnovers and held the Lady Rams to 28% shooting to build a 38-17 lead. At the 10:15 mark, the Lady Rams were within 14-15, but AUM closed out the half on a 23-3 run to run away with the game. The Lady Rams scored only one point over the final 6:17 of the half.
Mobile upped the defensive pressure in the second half, forcing 15 Warhawk turnovers, but was only able to get as close as 12 in the final period.
