Rally Falls Short And Rams Fall 4-5 To UNO

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team's rally fell short Tuesday, as the team fell 4-5 to NCAA-II University of New Orleans.

Mobile (3-7) hosts 3rd-ranked Lee University for a three-game series this weekend, beginning with a 2 pm contest Friday.

For eight innings, the Rams' offense was held in check and UNO built a 5-0 lead. But, in the 9th Mobile finally got to the Privateer bullpen and put up four runs on four hits. A popout started the frame, but singles by Braxton Hamil and Ryan Parazine and a hit batsman loaded the bags with one out. Corey Fountain started the scoring with an opposite field RBI-single. After a strike out made it two outs, the Rams got two more runs on wild pitches and another on a RBI-single from Josh Blaylock. But, with two outs and runners on 1st and 2nd Kyle Blancaneaux came in and got a pop out to pick up the save.

The first seven innings were the Beau Boudreaux show, as the UNO shortstop drove in all five UNO runs, finishing 2-for-3. He hit a solo bomb in the 4th to start the scoring, added a sac fly in the 6th, and hit a 3-run double in the 7th.

Ryan Parazine and Josh Blaylock each finished 2-for-3 for Mobile.

Jake Fabre picked up the win with 3 innings of 2-hit, shutout ball for the Privateers. Jacob Knowles took the loss for Mobile after giving up 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings of work.
